Shot a Sheridan Silver Streak the other day, it was excellent!

This was a Silver Streak with the rocker safety, it had a Williams peep sight.

What a beautiful gun, it is light, short, shoulders just right and is a joy to shoot and carry.   You can pump it up and walk around with it ready to shoot, no worries about spring sag or any of that. 

Accuracy was very good with Crow Magnum pellets, first pump was very easy, pumping was not obstructed by a scope, trigger pull was very light and predictable.  Three pumps worked just fine up to 25 yards and another pump or two worked for more distant targets. 

I didn't get to hunt with it, the grasshoppers were too afraid to come out and play.

I like this a lot better than the Benjamin 397 I had.  There is a good reason these Sheridans have a following.

I don't have a Sheridan, but the next best thing. Love my Benjamin 342, circa 1981. They just don't build them like this anymore!

I grew up shooting the Sheridans.
Awesome power, once you got it pumped up.
Back in the day, I was young, and I pumped and shot
8 pumps everytime.

The gun is very light to carry too.
It has to be, because you're going to get worn
out enough from just pumping it up.

Been there, done that, and it was a lot fun.
When you're young, not much phases you.

I wouldn't want to shoot a Sheridan nowadays
though.

Per pound, it's probably one of the hardest hitting
airguns ever made.

  This is what I used for my 392 (scout mount) Greg Lundy mount. he has a breach mount for a regular scope.

IMHO the early Sheridan, Benji and or Crosman 140 are the classic pneumatics and a must have for the airgunner who likes pneumatics. 

Good thing for you is all of them show up pretty regularly for what I feel are fair prices. Grab one when you can, you will also see what we who own them already know.

I love pneumatics and I 100% agree. I had a chance to buy a Crosman 180 cheap and messed it up because I didn't pull the trigger fast enough. I'm looking for a Crosman 140 and 180 to add to my collection.

I have a Silver Streak that I have enjoyed shooting for over 50 years.  I really loved this gun but I don't live in the country any more and an out of control squirrel population and nearby neighbors dictated something quieter with a shorter cycle time between shots.  After doing a lot of study and evaluating just how much I really wanted to invest in squirrel control, I got a refurbed Benjamin Trail NP .22.  I thought the Sheridan was powerful until I put it to the phone book test.  The NP went twice the depth, with less noise, and I didn't have to pump it 8 times!  But the Sheridan is much easier to shoot well.  I was thinking about selling it, but maybe it is a classic and I should keep it.  The NP is getting all the trigger time.  It is just a lot more fun.  If I can get 50 years out of it, that will be a good investment!

I would KEEP IT!!! of course I'm a little biased   If you decide to sell I'm sure there are plenty of people here including me that would be more than happy to own it. You could send it to Tim@Mac1 to get a steroid tune for more power with less pumps. I think 5pumps steroid equals 8pumps stock. Could post a picture?
