I am looking to but a red dot sight on my Crosman 600. I am thinking that a 3/8" aluminum bar that has beveled edges might work. Anyone ever try something like this?

I purchased a cheap Picatinny rail and used existing holes on top of the frame to mount it. Since the cast frames are not necessarily dead level on top, you may need to shim the mount. the rail i used provided enough room to operate the follower. Some folks have notched the rail to make it easier to get to the follower handle.

Great pics and a good looking setup. Where did you find the picatinny rail?

Rail is pretty cheap and I probably tacked it on to an Amazon.com order.

You can find them on ebay too for about $10 shipped; just search MRUB1022.

The picatinny scope rail came today. I cut it a little shorter than the one in the photo by breakfastchef, so that it was the same length as my BSA red dot sight. I then drilled and tapped a small hole in the top of the 600 frame for the front mounting bolt. It looks really good, and I will be sighting it in tomorrow. Photos forthcoming. Now, does anyone have a recommendation fon where to buy wood grips for a 600?

You will need to wait until January to place an order with RB Grips. I know of no one else who make wood grips for vintage Crosman pistols.

Here is my 600 with a 7.5" barrel and a red dot sight. All it needs now is a pair of wood grips.

Jim Giles at Crooked Barn had one pair of RB maple grips left, and with any luck Santa will put them under the Christmas tree!
