Just Ordered a Marauder

Don't let the dislikers dissuade you, Jimbob.  There are a lot more likers than dislikers.  Sometimes, the forums create their own momentum and if something gets started like bashing a certain brand, gun or person the bashing takes on a life of its own until it finally dies a slow and lingering death.  Don't sweat it!  I bet you are going to enjoy that gun immensely.  Hurry up and start shooting!

Meanwhile Here comes a $500 American made PCP doing the same thing, and in some categories better!

It always seems to me that there's always a group of folks that will knock anything. I really just think they're a bit too connected to the "Snob-Factor". They will take something which is absolutely incredible at it's price point and compare it to something which costs 3-4 times as much. They always seem to downplay the fact that most of their observations are based on the aesthetics when the function of the items are quite comparable. For the money, can't see how you could go wrong with an M-rod. And that's where my money's going, as soon as I have enough of it!

With the money saved purchasing this compared to high-end rifles, I'm gonna get a shoebox compressor.  BWAAHAA!

EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention; with the money saved, gonna get a buddy-bottle.  Man this feels good, buying  stuff with saved money!

No other way to fill here, besides my pump.  I've pumped to 3K, and it is doable, using body weight effectively.  It helps if you suffer from dickey-do disease; you know, when your belly sticks-out further than your dickey-do!

I love underdogs! This rifle opened-up a big can of whup-^&* (as mentioned earlier) on the big-boys, and is nipping at the heels of its well-groomed competition!

Enjoy that Marauder! It may not be a princess, but it acts like one!

I love my Mrod.  Absolutely incredible rifle and buy for the money.  Oh yeah, one last thing,, the squirrels and rabbits that this rifle consistently harvests for me don't know, or care, whether the rifle that just killed them cost $500 or $5000

There sure is a lot of dislike of the Marauder over on Airgun Advice.net.

That's strange to me. I was just thinking why would anyone want anything more? Some may prefer a different stock, maybe brand preference, maybe for a certain application. But not for function and accuracy. If I had lots of extra money I might get a FX... just because. But since I already have a Marauder, I just can't justify it.

Received a fill kit yesterday but the gauge was damaged in shipping.  I have a new gauge on the way but was wondering what I put on the threads to make a safe seal at the 3000+ psi it will be used for.

Put some Teflon tape on the threads of that gauge, and the fittings on your fill kit. What was wrong with the gauge?

The white face inside the gauge is bent preventing movement of the needle.

You could have them replace the whole rifle- that is really too bad, not one I've heard before. You shouldn't have to do your own surgery on a 3k psi fitting on a new rifle.

I think the Marauder is an awesome rifle, not just "for the money", but that's nice too! 

Seriously I can understand wanting an FX. They do some things that other guns don't do. Aside from the Star Wars styling, they have semi-autos, and the multi-pump Independence would be nice for lotto winners.

I don't get the money for the Daystates. They have beautiful stocks but you can buy heirloom furniture for the Marauder, if you're so inclined, and still be many dollars ahead. They have their problems too, and ultimately do the same thing a well-tuned Marauder does. To lay out that kind of cash I would want a USFT Hunter or some exotic German one-holer like the Steyr or FWB. I have a nice BSA but I usually find British guns finicky and mechanically challenging. A perfect world would have German guns with English stocks... but then I wouldn't want to "take it outside".
