Best Crosman-Benjamin

Hey guys, i just got a norica storm springer breakbarrel .177 rifle and I'm already looking for my next one - and I'm liking these crosman banjamins.

My question is: whats the best .177 caliber crosman benjamin out there?

At $150, (formerly, $256) it is a bargain:
American made (with some Chinese parts)
Short stroke nitro piston for easy cocking
According to Gene and others on this forum, better design and quality parts (cast piston instead of stamped, for example), harder steel
Includes a quality 3-9x scope (unlike other guns, where you should simply throw away the cheap scope and start over)
Fairly powerful for a non magnum. Most people get 1050+ fps with standard lead pellets; I'm getting 750 fps in my 22 cal version
Not as heavy as some other guns, but not too light, either

yea, I'm from Europe, so importing this would cost a lot of money, plus its hella powerful for Slovenian standards so i prefer to buy it locally - much easier and cheaper at the end.
I'm just cant decide on the model. I'm looking at the Discovery 4.5mm and Marauder 5.5mm - i want a PCP that's got lots of range - scope i will buy separately.

From what Ive gathered the Marauder is better ... but i have questions about filling it. The discovery also runs on CO2, while the marauder cant - and from what Ive heard you cant charge it with an air compressor either.

How to you guys charge up these more powerful PCP rifles?

There are compressors made to put out the higher pressures required by PCP rifles.  You can get manual ones, which look like a bicycle pump but put out much higher pressures.  There is also at least one electric high pressure compressor, the Shoebox.  Check out Pyramyd Air, you may get some ideas.

Seems there are a lot of countries around you that export airguns.  Aren't the prices better for an airgun than the US and Chinese airguns mentioned?

The Crosman Benjamin Marauder and Discovery are still more affordable than Weinrauch. I dint want another GAMO or NORICA - i want a PCP, and the crosman Benjamin has got it all - a magazine (10 or 11 shots), PCP system, it looks good and is well made.
I would of course love a HW100 or even lower, but the price is higher and magazines smaller.

Ive postponed this purchase until i get my gun license - that's the only way i get to own the full power version.

If you guys have any suggestions, please, let me know!

I just got a the DISCO in the .177 version and the .22 version. They are both light weight even with a scope and you can easily hold them steady enough for small game with out a rest. The .22 I get about 30 shots that are useable in the 758fps range and in the .177 almost 60 shots in the 855fps range.

I was torn between the Disco and the Marauder but the weight was the deciding factor for me. I bought the .22 in a kit with the hand pump and it is not a big deal to pump it. I refill it when it gets to about 1200 and stop at about 1900 because that is the "sweet" range of the guns.

Both guns are very accurate I wish I would have bought the Disco from the very beginning but you learn from shooting and reading a lot.

Whichever you choose they are great guns and the lack of worrying about hold sensitivity and wrecking scopes makes it all that more fun to shoot. The ONLY drawback is, you will shoot more pellets because the fun factor goes way up!

I just contacted the local store about the marauder, and apparently they don't keep them anymore because there were too many problems with the air filling system, they also don't keep the crosman pumps - Weird - i never heard about these problems.
Anyway, they also suggested another rifle by evanix - the Blizzard S10. They said its superior, but its also more expensive. Here are the stats:

Thanks for the lead...but I must be dense.   I went to the website you listed, and their "blowout promotion" is still there.    But...when I tried to order the Benjamin NPS / Destroyer pellet combo I did not know what promo code to enter, and it persisted in  charging  me the  full price for the combo of $308+.   Is there something obvious I have done wrong?   Any advice would be helpful...it's a great deal!

Sorry...I'm a newbie.

I went to the recommended website which is still offering the promo.   But when I try to check out with the requested Benjamin NPS/Pellet combo I don't know how to  get the  discount.  I don't ahve a promo code  and the  checkout cart persists in charging the list price for both items.

I agree with the above. I picked up one, and have enjoyed it from the git go. It is now broken in - over 500 rounds - and it sure likes a variety of pellet shapes and weights. It exceedes the advertised specifications as well.

It is about 179 at pyamid + free shipping right now, which  is probably about the same as the Crossman "blowout" price plus if you want to hunt with it you can order the .22 at same price.
