I'm a proud owner of a .177 Tempest too.  Great plinker.  I keep mine oiled-up with a light coat of 30w ND oil.

Still regret the day I sold mine.
I bought it new back in 1985 and it looked just like these you guys posted. It had the Cocobolo combat grips and trigger shoe.
Not that the Santa Rosa or Huntington Beach Tempests were any different, it's just cooler to see the San Rafael name on it.

I had a Tempest and later a Hurricane, I enjoyed the Tempest most because of it being shorter with less to snag. I was actually a fairly good shot with it about 25yrs ago, I cleaned up a lot of chipmonks at my parents acreage. Of course now I realize that they aren't highly regarded for their accuracy but they are rugged and my .177s never had any problems for as long as I owned them. Nice to see people still enjoying their Tempests and thats a nice holster, wish I had had one.

I found a really nice used UK tempest in a gun shop in El Dorado and him and hawed till some one else got it.  Been kicking my self ever since.

I had the Webley Alecto ulta made in turkey,  it was a nice gun, just was too large for my fin, webbed fingers and such.  I thought it was very accurate and had kinda a cool trigger, all adjustable in differant ways.  No recoil, and you could adjust power by the number of times you cocked it, up to 3 times.  I think the quality was good.  I would buy another Turkish made UK gun.  Would I use the UK gate ou the Turkish gate to talk about it?

I would use the Turkish Gate to talk about it since that's where you'll get most people's attention. I think I've seen some folks talk about the Alecto in that Gate if I'm not mistaken.
It looks like a pretty cool gun.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, that Tempest you saw in an El Dorado gun shop was the same one Scott saw last year.

All this talk about the Tempest is making think mine might be wanted by someone else. I will trade it (with a spare spring and piston seal and two extra breech seals for......a Crosman 1720t.
