Benjamain Super Sear

So I get my super sear today and a little disappointed because I thought it was steel but it's aluminum So I want to get some help from people who've installed one and is it a problem being that it's not steel?  There is a steel roll pin that engages the striker. has anybody had any issues with this sear?

This is why I asked.  It's not any where near the weight and thickness as the original sear.
hope the picture helps. haven't broken down the gun to inspect the original sear.

That doesn't look like the one I installed.  Now I see what you meant about the steel rolled pin.  Mine didn't have that.

Did you get it from the link I posted?  You can find it by scrolling down on the left side until you see Custom and then underneath is parts.  Click on that and scroll down the page that comes up.  Sorry there isn't a direct link.  I never found a way to order from the website so I called and placed the order.

Sorry yes I did order from AOA. to me this just doesn't seem to be safe. it's listed under custom parts for crosman. the picture on the web site doesn't even look like the part they sent me.   I'll call them to find out why the change.

That is deffentaly aluminum.  You could have it hard anodized by a shop.

Sounds about right.  Everting thing Ive seen from AoA has been bad. They seem to be hit or miss unless you spend $$$$ they do not care.

If they give you any problems let them know bait and switch is illegal. Photo doesn't match what you were sent.

  They sell a Super Sear, and they also sell a Dual Power Super Sear.

  Look under Benjamin Custom ACP for the Dual Power model.

  Not sure if there is a difference, but they do call them two different names, so there might be a mix up on the two parts??

Using a spring pin as a sear engagement surface is pretty clever but is typical of the kind of low quality stuff that comes from a certain source that will forever remain nameless HERE and a be a COMPLETE LOSER. He stands behind nothing and AOA is his insulation from the public he dumps on.
No doubt this is Gen 2 where he found a way to copy someone and make his junk ever cheaper so he can improve his already outrageous profit margins.

To answer the original question is to say the Sear Angle the Super sear uses is the SAME NUETRAL angle the Mac1 Steroid Sear uses that is a recut of the factory original sear. I've never sold them because the hammer edge needs to be dressed AS well as the sear angle changed and I can only do it my way when the whole gun is here. Setting people up with retrofit Custom trigger parts is something I've never done. There is no amount of polishing that will fix a sear angle issue. Also it doesn't matter what you do with the springing either if the sear angle is not changed. When changed and the sear needs to be rehardened. Tag team AGsmithing is not what we do.

It is pretty obvious this is Gen II and you will be informed as to how much better it is than GEN 1 which of course was PERFECT! So now you will have better than perfect. Good Luck returning for credit your better than perfect part because the sale is the deal. Now it is yours and the money is theirs.

You get good information here at GTA and no blowing junk up your butt going on. Do your homework next time. Believe nothing on the yellow. Censorship and condemnation is what the yellow has on offer to the knowledgeable. It is Yellow Journalism at its finest and that my friend is why the GTA was founded. Regardless if it is a Super sear or a Dual Power sear, I'd avoid everything that maker has anything to do with. It is always the same theme. High dollar junk with no backing. Made in America. Backed nowhere!

I would say that is a very astute observation. This Forum may not have ever been considered practical if not for the fact that other opportunities for innovators and start-ups suddenly disappeared (when JK passed away).
The replacement has gotten more corrupt and arrogant as his checking account balance has swelled. Fostering innovators was replaced with charging buck$ for market existence on a recurring basis.
This Forum has always been about supporting innovators and giving them a nest/home to develop. That was the same theme JK had for the yellow way back. When the ownership shifted so did the emphasis. New guy said "PAY OR LEAVE" to all merchants. Smart guys paid. I went terminally ballistic! JK turned in his grave. Gene & Bob got busy.
We are so lucky Gene & Bob had the vision, resources & skills to put the GTA up so that those that needed a new nest/home had someplace to go. I'm one of those and I thank CDT and Gene for doing the right thing.
When JK sold QB's I did not. Since Gene and Bob sell after market trigger stuff I will not. The exception is the Trigger spring for the Crosman 2250 (which is a sear I engineered and the factory adopted). Trigger work that is part of the Steroid platform is the basis for the sear angle improvement to give those guns great triggers that remain safe. I only do those in house as part of the Steroid Project. People can also send me their Striker & trigger assy.
I see two places we can improve things safely as a retrofit. If a gun has a good sear angle the changes can be spring related(like the 2250). If the Gun has proper springing and the sear angle needs changing then that can also be done as a retrofit (like the CDT triggers). When a gun needs a little of both then it becomes a little more dicey to be sure and that is where I don't want to provide people with half of what they need to have a good job. Others have no such hesitation and virtually no backing. Commerce, of that nature, I find objectionable.

Thanks for the kind comment and clarification.  One more question, please.

Do the CDT triggers really work by changing the "sear angle? " I thought it had to do with different leverages or mechanical advantage?  In fact, just from looking at the photos posted to this thread, it seems like that "Super Sear" thing may involve something similar.

Sear angle adjustment certainly is in the Benjamin SS offering as that is the primary area of improvement rather than the overhyped (two stage) line of bagged HYPE!.
There is no advantage had from moving the striker aft during the trigger break but that is what the stock sear does. Any aftermarket sear has to avoid that or it will be a horrid pull weight. I can't see how moving the piston aft would be any different.

Just judging from some recent reviews on the Crosman (Green) forum, you might want to reconsider sending it back without trying it out first.

Got my new aluminum super sear today from AOA
and put it in my trigger group. It of course involved grinding down the post inside the case to allow clearance. I must say the trigger is awesome. 200% improvement over the stock sear even after the stock sear had some mods already done to it. Now time will tell if this hardened roll pin that is pressed in the aluminum sear with loosen up and fall out. I am not holding my breath unless they loctited it or something.

Same thought here, but man I am loving the feel of this trigger now! Like night and day with the change it makes to the not so good stock sear feel/
