Nitro venom dusk vs nitro venom .22

On the crosman webpage it is stated that the nitro venom has the same fpe as the dusk however the dusk is suitable to small game hunting where the venom is not. Just wondering if there really is a performance difference between the two. Also does anyone know why the specs are different for the pro pick nitro venom and the nitro venom by itself. The length and weight are not the same.

Benjamin, you asked a string of questions and I'll TRY to answer. The Nitro Venom and the Venom Dusk are essentially the same rifle. The Dusk would be for hunting because the synthetic stock would suffer no damage from the elements. If you take reasonable care of it the Venom will hunt, too. Once upon a time ALL guns seemed to have blued barrels and wood stocks. I think it's more of a sales thing than a limitation on the Nitro Venom.
The rest of you question seemed to pertain to another member of the family. You said the specs and dimensions were different. A longer barrel would be enough of a change to alter the ballistic numbers.
Now you can go back and read the ad again knowing what to expect.

i believe that both the venom and the dusk is blued thus can be affected by the elements.

Benjamin, you are correct - both have blued finish on the metal. I was referring to the stock. THAT is the big difference between the Venom and the Dusk. Nylon and plastic don't care about water and humidity. Wood does.

I recently changed from a wood to evil black plastic and believe the rifle now shoots better. The synthetic (my first ever) holds the powerplant much more secure than the wood did. Tightening the fasteners to the required torque for springers is hard on wood.

I can neither agree nor disagree with 56S. I have no experience to compare. I originally purchased a Venom rather than the Dusk because the plastic or nylon stock was having trouble with the screws. I guess it's all individual experience. I've been happy with my choice.
