so today during lunch, there was a nutter in my driveway, when i pulled up in my truck, he ran around back towards the feeder.  I opened the shed door, grabbed the TX200 and loaded a CPL.  poppped my head around and he was there, just eyeballing towards me, about 15 yds.  I took careful aim, thinking in the back of my ehad, since he was closer that myh sight in distance of 21 yds, my pellet will hit a little low.  So i took as careful aim at the top portion of the nutters head, thinking my pellet will still hit him and touch off the shot.  He ran up a tree, and started barking.  as i tried to reload, he scampered out of sight... i plumb missed.... even with a gun such as the TX200 you still need marksmanship.

Yup it happens, I find the short shots are harder than the long ones

You got it right Glenn.  Proximity error in close with a scope will tend to make  your shots hit low so you need to aim  high.

Now what were we talking about?    Oh yea, first grade math problems.

It happens to all of us eventually. I was down at the dairy one day hitting every dove I shot at from 35 all the way out to 45 yards. Then a big magpie flies up and lands 15 to 20 yards away, he’s two and half times the size of the doves and I miss him clean. Over confidence has a way of humbling me every now and then.

I don't even want to know how many shots I've missed while night hunting.  You'll get them next time.
