Sat out for 30-40 minutes, no shots, no motion, no lead catchers to be seen.
I think the donger was bored and just wanted to mess with me.

Will post a pic this evening, Ron, but it's pretty standard fare as far as appearance is concerned. Need to do the stock inletting next and I'm a bit reticent about that. Right now it is sitting in a donor stock...a shortie from a QB79.

Here's a picture of the new QB78 I'm building up for my uncle. Right now it is in a QB79 stock for testing. As stated previously, it is producing about 31fpe with JSB 18.1gr using a Ninja SHP bottle adjusted to 1300psi. Last night I shot a couple of 42 yard groups about the size of a dime. Hoping maybe I can do a little better when I'm not shivering cold. Right now it's propped up behind the door in case the ding-donger comes calling.

Rifle looks good and very impressive numbers too!!!

My rats have slower WAY down. Last night and night before I saw one rat but no shots. Activity is way down. Maybe I eraticated residents. More will be coming along I am quite sure.

Thanks for the kind words on the QB78 build. It is meeting my goal of 30fpe which I figured would be straightforward enough going into the project, but I'm now relieved to find that the accuracy is there as well.

CW, you say activity has slowed down. Here it has not slowed, it has stopped! I have a good wife, though. I told her we don't have enough rats so what does she do? She talks to her friend who has an alpaca farm and come to find out they have lots of rats and would love for me to come over and whittle down the population! So I may have a new outlet before long.

Haven't seen/heard any mouse activity since I got six mice in a 48 hour period. Shouldn't have killed them so fast...

CW, if you're ever out this way, I'd love to set something up. We are like-minded individuals...it torments me that I have not found anyone local that shares my affliction (since Glyn sold off his equip) so any opportunity to spend time with my GTA brethren shall not be missed!

This I feel is the lone problem with boards such as this. SO MANY GREAT PEOPLE! Now granted we would likely never have know of one another, but we do via this board but distance likely will keep us from meeting.

But who knows, I am surely NOT STAYING here any longer than I need to and who know where I will end up!

I'm sitting here shaking my head and laughing at us all.

What weird folk we are. We spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on our hobby not only in guns and ammo but weird things like a ding donger. We set up game cameras and we build bait stations and invent all kinds of baits to lure our prey. We spend time setting up our shooting station with all the accessories, tools and luxuries we deem necessary.

Do we do this for a prized animal? A trophy? a score? No, we do all this for the king of vermin, the plague and flea infested rat!!!

Yes indeed, we are a strange brood.

And I love it!!!
