Cut barrel air stripper

Have any of y'all tried a slot or two( at least one on each side ) a fraction of an inch before the muzzle? I am looking at the possible benefit of reducing the blast of air after the pellet has left the barrel. Say 1/2 inch before the muzzle, and 1mm wide across maybe 30% of the circumference on each side? have to be well de-burred of course...
cheers,
Douglas

Not that, but use a unique one in my .22 pcp I made up last year.
Basically stripper is built like the bell of a trumpet flairing out to the shrouds I.D ( A tapered cone ) and has 4 slots cut around it's circumference.
Then is capped with a washer like piece with a tube in the middle. This tube extends back towards muzzle @ 1/3 the cones length.
Idea was to get the exiting gas to expand following a divergent cone creating a pressure drop with the venting of this expansion exiting the slots at shrouds I.D. and into its confined space. Tube on end cap further strips air mid way within cone as is conventional with strippers.
Works GREAT !! and found far more effective that just hole drilled 90* to the pellet and gas path.

Hey Motorhead,
I'm working on my .22 cal. Hatsan Model 95 (springer) and want to remove the ugly muzzle brake. In its place I was hoping to install a Hatsan .22 cal. Air Stripper that I saw at Pyramyd Air?
I just saw your comments and now feel this could work, plus possibly improve accuracy.
After removing the plastic muzzle brake, I plan to thread the outside of the barrel with .50 NTF to accept the Air Stripper.
Hatsan advertises the Air Strippers for their PCP air rifles, but I don't think this should make a difference?
What do you think? I would appreciate your thoughts,
Kirk
