Scope or sight with long eye relief.......anyone using a red dot?

Hey left eye, the true glow red dot hooked up ok?  The rail was the right size?

How about you liliesdad what red dot did you use and did it hook up ok?

yeah... no prob. average walmart dovetail mount. i used the crosman red dot (1 inch tube...) mine has a neat little dot on 2 or 3 intensity.

How do I get the front sight off I read somewhere you can heat it up with a hair dryer?

Duck fish, I used an 11mm to weaver adapter, TruGlo works great on dimmest dot setting so small targets aren't hidden by  the dot. If you're talking about the actual small front sight blade, it screws out.
A little oil to loosen it. If you raise a front sight it lowers the strike of the round. With both my 57's the sight post was about to fall out and still hitting high. That's why I replaced one with a longer nail. Then it hit low, snipped a very small piece off  the top twice, elevation was on but hit a little right with rear sight all the way left. Bent nail a hair right, hit a little left, moved rear sight 4 clicks right. Next two pellets were center of the bullseye 1/8" apart. Shot from 20meters off a bench rest. Peak wadcutters.

If you want to remove the plastic muzzle break so that it can be reused then I use a hair dryer and it took about 15 minutes to get it to the point I could easily turn it then I used a block of wood that I had made a slot in to  just fit over the barrel and used a hammer to knock it off. You will need to reheat to reinstall. I've done this to both my 57s several times and its no worse for the wear.
