The current 50S started life with the designation HW99. The old 50 had a low cocking effort around 18lbs. The current model is quite a bit more. Because of the articulated cocking lever it feels like 30lbs. With it being discontinued Weihrauch changed the name of the 99 to 50. The "S" denotes the Rekord trigger. My 50S isn't stamped with the S either but it has the Rekord.
It's easy to cock up to that last couple of inches....feels more like thirty..It's the configuration of the cocking lever . Would be nice to have a revamping....but all in all you couldn't get me to give up my 50s....Happy to hear you're getting your own. Lol
Yes just loosen the screw and tap it off.
