This is a question for anyone out there who has recently bought a new hw 45. Im strongly considering picking one up. Is it really rough shooting as far as the famous hw twang goes,or does this actually breah in nice? I have two hw rifles and the hw95 sounded like a banjo when i shot it until i put a $200 tune on it. Sweet now. Basically im asking if the 45 is pretty good without a tune. Thanks everyone ,k-man

Hey, buddy.
Welcome to the GTA!
I've never owned one of these fine pistols but I'm sure someone will chime in soon.
Scott (Motorhead), if I'm not mistaken has owned a Beeman P1 Magnum which is the same thing. I've shot one years ago and if I remember correctly, it had a slight twanginess to it.

Had an original San Rafael P-1 ( Hw45 ) for near 25 years and it was tight
having very little too no twang
when fired.
As for newer production, not read much about them around the web

I've owned a P1 since they were new...bought it in 1986!
Very pleasant gun to shoot, really a top-quality pistol, and has always felt pretty crisp to me. That being said, don't neglect the break-in period, just about any springer is going to be better after having been used for a while.
IMHO the best non-match springer pistol ever built, can't really go wrong with it.
