Webley Patriot .25

I am thinking about getting a webley patriot 25.I assume that hatsan makes them because it has a quattro trigger.I was just wanting to see if they shoot hard enough for coyote hunting also what some owners think of theirs long term.I was also thinking about a marauder but I will have to use hand pump and with the webley I would have unlimited shots.

My Patriot shoots at about 28FPE.
Very accurate and not very hold sensitive.
A Mrod is probably a better choice since you don't have to worry about that.
I would still get a Patriot, but that's me.

I was hoping Stefan would reply and he didn't disappoint (like always).
Sorry, I can't speak for the newer Patriots but there's another member, Al (GunnerAl) who has several Patriots from both Turkey and the UK.
Hopefully he'll chime in and give you his opinion.

My gun is flawless. Couldn't ask for a better made one.
Machine work on metal and wood is perfect.
Fit is also perfect.
If you get one, make sure it's made after 2009.
The early Turkish ones weren't very good.

I did these two reviews on the Webley Patriot .25 cal rifle two years ago. At that time this was probably the second or third shipment of Patriot's from Turkey. I still have the Rifle and still shoot it some (went to the dark side).

If you want the power for yotes, the Hatsan 135 (if properly treated) will provide more power than the patriot or a 125.
That said, if you want more of an out-of-the-box shooter, the Patriot might be your pick. I went with a 125, and it's throwing out 30+ fpe, depending on pellets (32 has been the max, so far). I had the gun worked-over like a CDC researcher after a test-tube break, and there was a lot of QC nastiness.

My Turkish Patriot shot about 27fpe out of the box. I broke it down, honed the chamber, replaced OEM piston seal with Macarri seal, polished the piston, flattened and deburred the spring ends, deburred the cocking slot and shoe, applied Moly where appropriate, placed delrin spacers at each end of the spring, put her back together, and shot about 400 pellets through it.
I then ran it across the chrony last fall and what a difference! Average over 30 fpe with 4 different pellet styles and weights.
If you are intereste in the results, please email or IM me and I will send them to you via email (Excel file)

Great info-
I had picked up a Webley Patriot .25 at an auction just to try it out. Had it up for sale but after finding this gate and doing some initial reading maybe it will be a keeper. Really didn't want to have 3 different pellet sizes.... Not sure how to tell the wife though....
Mine is shooting about 720 fps with an extreme spread of about 10 fps. That seems in-line with the posted numbers but I am wondering if these guns respond well to a basic tune?
Is there anyone that could be recommended if this is worth doing on these guns? Are there kits available?
