Can the Coil Spring in a HW95 be replaced with a Gas Cylinder/spring? Has anyone done it? Is it a Good or Bad idea?
Tnx

WHY?
A coil spring is just fine.....and adjustable.

Snake,
How big is the stock spring, what is the piston stroke and does it have a bottom catch or a through the spring catch for the trigger?
Edit:
Just looked up the schematic, looks like it has a through the spring sear for the trigger catch (
https://www.pyramydair.com/air-gunsairsoft-schematics
) I do not believe this would not allow a nitro piston retrofit...

I've never heard of nor seen a gas rammed R9/HW95.
That would be an interesting combination with a quality gas ram.

I just thought that I would see what you guys thought.... heck... the gun isn't even in my hands yet! They keep driving it up and down the state. It's gonna be worn out before I get it!

Theoben sold gas rams for the R-1/HW-80. I don't know if it could be fitted to the R-9.

Nope, just like Al (OleTomCat) mentioned, the design of the HW95 doesn't allow for a gas spring conversion.
