It's been pretty sparse since the Station fire. Cotton tails and Hare are way down the last few years but the nutter population is starting to return. We have some deer but they are over hunted already IMO. I see lots of bear tracks but never laid eyes on one in 8 years.

I setup one of those 5 gallon water jugs, full of bird seed, nuts, etc; in a good place for squirrels that is well away from the houses, and most traffic I hope. I fashioned it in such a way that it should auto fill the bowl beneath it.(unless it rains.) But, we don't really have rain in the distant forecast so I'm not really worried about that. Hopefully after a month or so, more will have moved in. Since replying in this thread, I have stopped hunting the ground squirrels in hopes of keeping their numbers up for a day we can do a little hunt. Also, going to look for a blind on craigslist or somewhere I can setup somewhere close to there, closer to when the time comes.

Glad to see there are so many shooters nearby. I picked up another gun and scope (ruger with the leapers) on craigslist for $40 the other day, so I'm slowly adding to the stable.

Next time you are over at that big Bass Pro Shops, take a look for me to see what kind of Chrony's they have.
I have a $100 gift card for there, and would love to come out there sometime to check it out.
I've never been to that store yet, and from what I hear, it's pretty dang HUGE.

How's March 29th look for you all, or is that too soon? At the very least, we can go setup targets and have a little fun competition if the squirrels aren't cooperative. If any of you have 4x vehicles you like to play in, there is lots of that too. We'll take my 4runner to get all our stuff to a good target shooting spot right near by.

I'm up here in Victorville, and I see some people relatively close (Rancho and Riverside). I enjoy punching paper, target shooting, and pesting so far. Would love to try my hand at some small game hunting. All I have is about 23 yard in the back to practice shoot. Willing to do a little traveling for the love of shooting and hanging out. I will be shooting Field Target with CASA on Saturday in Chino Hills if anyone in interested. I will be shooting either a 1720T, an RX2 or an HW97, all depends on my mood.

Do a search here on the forum for CASA FT and it ill pull up directions and start time.

Have you ever been to the Bass Pro Shop in Rancho Cucamonga ?
I think it should be no more than 20 miles from you.

If you can check and see if they have any Chrony's,... I have a $100 gift certificate for there.
I've not made it out there to check the place out yet,... but if they DO Have Chrony's, I'd be fine with sending you the gift certificate to pick one up for me (us)

Been shooting airguns for over 25yrs,I target shoot,plink and have a valid California hunting license.I frequent Los Padres forest for ground squirrels.I shoot about 4x a week and am always open to meeting new folks to shoot with and possibly hunt. danawebbs@gmail.com

I love seeing and hearing about members bonding and looking out for one another in this dog eat dog world we live in that two strangers with the only immediate thing in common is the love of our sport can come together and look out for one another. I don't know how I missed this above post, but feel I should comment on it.

For any of you guys that are looking for a good FT shoot, I HIGHLY Recommend looking into joining CASA.
CASA is the oldest, longest running airgun club in Calif., and is run by some of the most experienced and knowledgeable guys you will ever shoot with. They are all about competitive airgunning.
