Benji NP XL's ..... Fore Stock Bolts May Be Hitting Cocking Linkage On Some

It has come to my attention that some of the XL series gas rams may have an issue with front stock bolts hitting cocking linkage after you tighten them up.

Of course the fix would be trimming off ends of screws to allow clearance. It may be how the stocks are being drilled and countersunk. A washer under head of bolt would also be a fix.

Just letting you guys know. Something most of us can fix but good idea to report it to Crosman if you have this issue.

Checked mine and sure enough, one was touching and the other screw only had about .020 inch clearance.

A minute or so with a mill file should take care of it !

Yep, had that issue a while back and believe I posted it. Mine went in so far that it actually broke the barrel loose as if cocking it. So, if you have a lockup issue, be sure to check your forearm screws. And mine were on an XL that did not come with washers under these screws. Although the SS did.

The trail I had and sold to Jerry had the issue also. I just filed them down.

I think I have the same issue with my Trail NP. I removed the stock to wipe down the action of my new gun and after reassembly, I could feel something rubbing or grinding when I cocked it. I thought the cocking linkage was just rubbing on the wood inside the slot in the forearm but then this thread popped into my head this morning. I'll have to check it again when I get home tonight. Come to think of it, one forearm screw had a washer and the other didn't. I'll confirm that tonight.
