What in the world is this stuff??

Oil-like substance weeping from the Marauder gauge.  Odorless.  Not water.  I see a bit of weeping in the S410 as well, but it appears near the transfer port, not at the guage, so it makes me think it's coming from the fill system.   I use a Shoebox with dessicator and I *lightly* wipe and lubricate the rods every 2-3 hrs, so I don't think I'm over-lubing.  Both guns hold pressure fine.   Any ideas?  Low molecular weight stuff coming from the white lithium grease used to lube the Shoebox?

Just checked the SCBA fittings at the bottle.  Not a smidge of anything oily-looking substance anywhere.

Oil comes out of all greases...what sort of oil is ov course dependent on the type of grease. Right there are two big O-rings sealing up the gage port to the main air tube, so it is likely a bit of that grease letting a bit of its oil out of the gel.

Likely just lubricant used on o-rings while assembling, used so damage is less sliding them down tube into position.  Some lubes / Oil / Grease migrate ... others less so.

Yes, but where is the grease coming from if the fittings on the tank/hoses/compressor/etc are all clean as a whistle?  edit:  didn't see your post before I posted, Scott.  Assembly grease seems reasonable.  I reckon I won't worry about it...

It’s a fluid that they put in the gauge to make the needle more stable. 

Normal, then, for the Marauder?  (Doesn't make sense for the S410; it isn't weeping there...)

Any fluid in the gauge (and I seriously doubt there is any in an MRod gauge, I have one and see no bubble) should stay inside the gauge.... I think what you are seeing is some of the O-ring lube on the gauge block O-ring migrating to the hole in the tube where the gauge mount penetrates it to screw into the block.... If you clean it up it should stop eventually....

This was on my M-rod when I had it, Cleaned the whole thing and it never came back.

I've noticed the same type of leaching around the transfer port area of my Discovery, It's between the breach and the air tube. Is it the same thing?
