The $800 limit is just short of a lot of nice guns. Gave the Air Arms S410/S510 a look.Air Arms are nicely (well) built, very accurate, and depending on what model, 30 ft lb of power range.Have had two of them for four years and not a lick of trouble from either one. Fill, shoot and keep cleaned and lubed, is all have done to them. The side leveler on the s410/s510 will enable you to keep the sight picture. The side leveler is the smoothest cocking gun out of all my other guns.
You can find used SXX0 rifles for between 700 and 900 all day long.
Whoa, $1200 for the AA? And then I would have to spend another $800 for support equipment? I am actually budgeting $1400-1500 for everything, gun included. I said I was getting a decent sum of money, not winning the lottery! The Air Arms guns have sure went up in price. The CZ/AA S200 are good guns.My CZ S200 in .177 cal is the second most accurate gun I own. However, the S200 lacks the power that most people want. They have the power to take up to squirrel size pest inside 30 yards or so, depends on caliber and ft lbs. With the small air tube, it is easy to fill with a hand pump. My 11ft lb S200 will get a good 60 shots off a fill.I also own two Air Force guns. Air Force guns or not that well built. They have the worst accuracy of my pcp’s. They are fun to mod and to shoot, but lack the workmanship of the higher end guns.
The AA guns are not cheap. Actually, 1139 for the high falutin walnut/rosewood stock repeater, 999 for the poplar stock repeater, and 899 for the single shot. All have the same action/barrels in their respective carbine trim or long rifle trim. (carbine barrels are slightly shorter than the long rifle, but they are less efficient, noiser, and have smaller air tubes. Same barrel manufacturer, LW.) They either don't make or PA doesn't import the beech stocks anymore. Like I said, hang around, you can get several hundred knocked off on the price. If you want to buy new or refurbed and want maximum tunability, buy a Marauder (heard that before?). If you really like the action and like the stock, you're done. If you like the action, but not the stock, plunk down another $400 or so on a nice custom stock and now you have spent what your upper budget would have been, not taken the original outlay risk, or could have spent on a used AA, but isn't as easily adjusted. Buy one from Kevin on the Yellow for $325 shipped, refurbed, 90 day warranty and you're ahead of the game.
What's the URL for that?

Also the S200 does not have a gauge. I need that as a newcomer to PCP. I need all the safety features I can get to protect both myself and the gun. So, the search continues.

I‘m glad I bought my last pellet gun and 20k pellets before they went up. I have found that the gauge on the fill adaptor (not one of those cheap adaptor’s) is more accurate than the gauge on my guns. The gauges on every gun I have seen were not well marked off by psi because of there small size.
What if nobody cared!
Man take my word for it get an Mrod 25 and you'll have room to grow your accessories.Bob
