Actually, if there is a really bad QC issue, HW tends to deal directly with the customer shipping replacements through dealers. I feel Petey had a problem with his  recent Beeman servicing because Pyramid Air IS Beeman as far as the German made stuff goes.

Like AOA with having a monopoly on Daystate and FX , Pyramid is the sole service center for Beeman, Air Arms, Evanix etc.. In their greed I feel they both have bitten off a bit more than they can chew with regards to servicing those rifles over time.

In concert with that greed, Both AOA and Pyramid benefit from a pretty finely tuned "protection racket" over on the Yellow forum as paid advertisers there. NO serious issues with those guns OR the dealer service are EVER allowed to stay posted there long. It all gets swept under the rug promptly.

HW has no exclusive importer in the US. You might contact them directly in Germany and see who they recommend in the US. Be blunt with them, tell them your concerns and see what they say.

I must lead a very charmed life. Not only have I bought from AA without issues, I've returned items without issues. Even talked on the phone without being put on hold. I also am feeling extremely fortunate to have a new HW50 that is gorgeous ,precise and accurate. I remember, as a young man, taking my grandma out to eat. I don't think she ever had a meal that I bought for her that she "liked", always complaining to me and many times to the waiter,almost always I found the same food good and the service acceptable. I guess we had different expectations. Not saying guns aren't being shipped with defects but I do think too many times on these boards people tend to point out the bad and many times we never hear about the good.

As I have stated in other posts all the gun makers are experiencing high demand and are cutting corners. The older workers are dieing off.
As to china metal it not worthy. The older Bams were a much better made gun but still at its best it was a china gun. Not a Prue true whatever they cloned.  Pleasing all the number if people which covers many that know nothing about mechanics or even how all this works is a chore. Been blessed with a mechanic background and have machined, had to work metal and wield metal that I know the difference in metals and what to expect from there origin.
In cast no opinion on the HW till I have it in my hands. Then I will base an opinion. Just remember There few airguns are made here as the pellets.  Everything you buy in the USA is imported from some where!!
1 thing is if you have a good dealer the product is NO better than the man selling it. At least with RWS there are parts available here in the USA as many other guns.

Your 95 would go to PA for warranty. I think you would be safe with a 95.  I feel it's more of an issue with the production of Beeman branded product.

It wasn't a matter of the finish as in Bluing....it's the tube was not finished = not honed nor cleaned properly after bluing that caused the pitting. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that point.

All the MFG's are suffering to some extent due to such high demand....but the way I see it...it's like center-fire ammo. Make it right. Ship it when it's ready. People will wait for it if they have too and we never have to second guess the quality.....Makes sense to me.

Went ahead and got me a full power kit and piston seals coming for the HW80 despite the STORIES.
 As long as the tube is GOOD AND THE BARREL IS STRIGHT I can deal with the rest. If not then I will get another one till I get the right one.
 NEVER FEAR PA IS HERE!!! It is just like MONEY in the bank and oh yes PAY PAL!!!LOL

Well folks, the STORIES are just experiences and the whole point of the board is to share them is it not?  None of this is mutually exclusive, Pete's recent experience with several recent R9's does not cause any other HW to have issue.  I bought several guns from AofA and have no complaints whatsoever, I do not for a moment doubt others having issue.  I do have one advantage, if I leave friday night I can be at AofA in person Sat morning to get it right.  Thats something I can't do with AirgunDepot or Pyramyd.  So for that reason alone I have a security level that others far from the South West do not have.

Just because all my HW's & Diana's bought new have been everything advertised (Well the HW50s is exactly as I was forewarned about) does not mean the next box opened is good or bad.  I don't feel any need to defend my decision to buy a particular brand, even if its a premium.  I do want to hear about others experience with a vendor or product 

I like hearing about when things don't go as expected and why.

What problems did you have with your HW50s?  When was it made? Just curious..

No problems as such, the trenching of the cocking arm linkage and tube are more or less by design.  The trigger was perfect out of the box with one full turn lighter.  What surprised me was the harshness of the shot cycle.  Its sized between the HW30 & say a D34, its light and handles great.  That said out of the box it was twangy and harsh with a big torque twist not at all like the docile HW30 (mind that's like half the power).  Pete told me to get the 26 spring Vortek kit,  I dropped that in and WOW its awesome (perfect balance at 11.x Ft lbs in .177).

That's my dilemma though, I can't recommend it unless you're willing to spend another $80 and can safely take it apart.  Here's my guess on this model, as it ships to the UK & in Germany its mild enough to get this result.  Here though with the "US" spring its not a well balanced rifle out of the box.   After the spring kit I don't have anything that can touch it in a .177 break barrel and if I lived in a 12ft lb country I would carry this over my TX200 any day.

Yep, I have heard the same thing about the harsher firing behavior and cocking effort of the HW50s compared to the HW30/R-7s before.. That extra 4-5 FtLbs comes at a high price in the factory version.

The galling issue, while maddening is simply a design flaw with the double linked cocking arms. The least HW could do is insert the little sliver of PFT in the cocking arm before they ship them to ellminate the galling..

It think the really thing to bear in mind is that at $400 to $500 the HW is simply a solidly built all steel rifle with non of the internal refinements found in guns like the Air Arms guns Springers and the new Walther LVG which have buttoned pistons ,nylon cocking arm guides etc right out of the box.

If the HW guns had all those things they'c cost at least $100 extra. I am glad you got your 50S sorted out and it seems to be shooting well for you..

Thats the deal, using boxed CP 7.9's its one hole at ten and just gradually opens up to a quarter covering the shots at 40 yards.  No other break barrel I have shot helps me keep it in a rabbit's head area offhand as well as this gun.  I'm a big believer in having a gun on hand that gives repeatable results with little fuss.  Keeps your sanity when something else just won't group, this and the HW30 with peep work that way for me on break barrels.
