I lucked out a found another F.
It arrived today and I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box.
Looks like brand new, just one little pressure mark on the stock, perfect black on the metal.
It had a old style crimped top cart in it (when were these carts phased out?)
Unfortunately it didn't hold when I tried a new cart....Oh Well another project.
I've been lucky with finding these F models and have two others, one Silver converted to bulk and one other blue still on carts.
When the family gets together we can compete on equal footing
Does anyone else enjoy shooting these as much as I do? They are just the right length, nice and light and handle quickly, they like the JSB 13.7 much more than the old trash cans.
Share yours....

How do you charge that gun?
Is it a CO2 or hpa or PCP?

Al it's a co2 gun. Stock they run off a standard 12gram cart.
Sheridan used the same valve on these as in the blue Streaks pumpers, so they are pretty much a gas hog.
A popular mod is to do some valve work, lighten the hammer and spring and then use bulk fill.
These mods make them more efficient.
Mac1 sells the adaptor for bulk filling.

Sheridan F Bulk adapter

Since the F is a Gremlin grafting the E CO2 pistol valve and the C pump rifle Tube and hammer to make a gas hog of a rifle due to the excessive hammer weight and valve duration.
The weakest leak in this guns seal set is the factory face seal that can last about 25% of the life span of the other seals in the gun. Often the guns would work fine and the face seal is toast and requires a tear down to fix it. If you fit the Mac1 Bulk adapter to the front of the tube you can get the gun up and running 90% of the time and the face seal is not needed for a Bulk set-up and there is no teardown required. The C hammer nose can be ground down to significantly reduce the hammer weight and increase it's speed to shorten valve duration to a less hog like state. More hammer spring preload with lighter spring wire coupled with the hammer lightening can transform the gun into a reasonably efficient shooter.
The adapter is made for the Late model guns with internal threads on the tube. It uses the vent hole at BDC to keep the adapter from turning when you screw charging tank into the front. A set screw threads into the vent hole and into the bulk adapter to position it and then you tighten the retaining cap. The front of the gun resembles the 114 Crosman when the conversion is complete and the CO2 fills the entire Factory tube with Gas. There is a small percentage of F guns guns which will leak CO2 past the valve chamber when this conversion is done as they do not have a complete solder joint between valve chamber and tube to make the seal.
Model F Bulk adapters fit a Variety of other Models like the G392 & 397, Early Challenger CO2 rifle and any models using the F lower tube.
