Good Lightweight Hunting Rifle - Recomendations?

The Benji 392 is a tempting gun, but quality on the current ones really has me hesitating.  It does have a lot of the features I like. 

The current model worried me also. I just ordered one straight from Mac. He test them before he steroids it.

I also wish it was a steel barrel gun, as I do like to shoot the H&N green pellets around the house, and they are harder than lead.  I don't know that they'd be a good mix in the brass barrel.

Yeah, with a brass barrel that may not be a good idea. A steel barrel would be welcome.

RWS 34 in .22, and get a decent scope. or a HW50s... and decent pellets.

I have the rws 34, never knew un-scoped, they weigh 7.5lbs. These are excellent guns.

Excellent kit, really docile, keeps it just under 14fpe by a hair with cphp's 7.9gr.
Really increases accuracy, smooth cocking, well worth it.

Never owned an HW rifle, so I cannot comment on that.
The old school kit makes the rifle super sweet, not hold sensitive and extremely easy to cock. The spring for the OS kit, is the spring for the TX rifles, but with custom guides.
Scoped at 12x and benched, 9 shots in a group that measured .391 inches at 25 yards....not center to center, the whole group was .391 inches.

How's the quality on the current build 34's?  It seems quality issues are showing up in a lot of places.  Would you consider the current built 34's as still "Good"?

With the galling issues the HW50S is known for, the 34 with the Old School kit looks really attractive!

My .22 is a T05, build date 2010, it has the less then desired 12 land barrel by many, although has been fantastic for me, sporting a vortek kit.
My .177 with the OS kit, is a T05 build date 2006, german barrel, fantastic as well.
I cannot speak of the new 34's though.

i searched for an old 34... as per the hw50s galling issue...not an issue. it will outlast you. its is also weaker than a 34. find a good 34 and shoot it until it becomes "tuned"...lol
