Picture the scene if you will. The sun was about to go down. We are at the ranch getting ready for a few days of white tail hunting, prepping camp. We decide that before it gets dark we need to get a 1000 watt halogen light put together. We open up the box on the tail gate to my truck bed, suddenly 4 mice come flying out of the box. 2 jump off the gate and go running into the brush. The other 2 go the wrong way and head to towards my cab. They are agitated and running back and forth from the drivers side then back to the passenger side. One of them gets a mad look in his eyes and bolts towards us and flys off the tail gate in sugar glider fashion hits the ground running and disappears into the brush.
Then there is the one. He looks at me with his beady little eyes as if to size me up, it was almost as if he was thinking, if the other three can do it so can I! So I grabbed my 5 year old son’s Buck 105 BB Gun and chamber a round. It is at that moment I give him a choice...do not charge and live, charge and feel the wrath of my BB, giving your life with honor and earning my respect as a hunter. It was at this point he made his move. He gave me his profile and started to run. I felt the trigger crack under the pressure of my index finger, he dropped instantly and it was over. The shot placement was spot on, it was a lethal blow just behind the shoulder. The BB went in and came out, clean.
I later recounted the scene in the bed of the truck. The Buck 105 founds it’s mark at exactly 8 feet, the distance of my GMC long box bed. I have a whole new respect for mice and The Buck 105, not to mention respect for varmint hunting.

Nice hunt.
Will you do a full shoulder mount, or just the head?

I think a full body mount is in order for this fellow.

Great story and picture. Now that's what BB guns were invented for!!!

Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." Yep, they still make them. Here is the one I bought my son when he turned 4.

He sure loves that little BB Gun and now understands that it can be dangerous, seeing
the mouse drove the importance of gun safety home to him. He now understands that
even his bb gun can hurt someone and never to point it at anyone. He has left it out in
the rain, dropped it in the dirt, fell out of a moving truck, and this little guy still keeps ticking
and with the fiber optic sight it is an accurate little gun. (If the target is within 10 yards).
He is still having a hard time cocking it at the age of 5. I am sure by next year that should
not be a problem.

Great tail, i felt like i was there. Especially the part about him(mouse) deciding honor over valor and his flight and consequential death.. wow. deep stuff and yet it really occurred, a trophy was earned. I hope he went into the cooler and is now in the freezer awaiting the E. mount. I also think you should get recognition for taking the smallest mammal that i've ever seen a pic of, plus you did it with a buck 105. Now thats what i call sporting.

They are great little starter guns,I bought my son one as well when he was 7,last year he got his first break barrel, and brought the lil buck to me and said he was too big for it now,I laughed, and put it with my guns, told him I'd keep it case he changed his mind.lolIt's still a fun plinker,no matter what your age.
