Morro Bay Field Target Match - 05/19/2013

Our second airgun field target match will be held this coming Sunday, May 19th. This second match will be a lower key event. No food or drink or camping provided at this match. It will be a good match to try out field target for the first time. I will be out of town, but Alan Hull will be running the match. Any members that wish to help him setup the match, please contact him. This match will have a reduced fee of $5 to go toward the target fund. The general public is welcome to come and try out a fun shooting match.

8-9am - site-in lanes open (register first)
9am - shooters meeting
9:20-12noon - match 

Competitors use .177 through .22 caliber scoped airguns (pellet guns) to shoot at resettable silhouette targets in a field type situation. The targets are all at unknown distances from 10 to 55 yards. Learning to estimate the target distance is a critical part of the game, as well as knowing your rifles holdover at all distances. You will be squaded with another shooter and move through the lanes of play together. You must shoot the pellet through the hole on the target faceplate for the target to fall. One point for a knockdown, zero if it does not fall. Beginning competitors are usually able to knock down a few targets and experienced shooters rarely knock them all down

Competitive classes:

Hunter/Piston - spring/piston sporter rifles, scopes of 12x or less (or turned down to 12x)
Hunter/PCP - precharged sporter rifles, scopes of 12x or less (or turned down to 12x)
Open/Piston - spring/piston match style rifles, unlimited scope power
Open/PCP - precharged match style rifles, unlimited scope power

12 lanes
2 targets per lane
2 shots per target
48 shots total for the match

As long as your rifle is under 20fpe, you can shoot it in one of the classes.
