Any Edgun owners here?

I'm wondering what the Edgun is like. I've seen the You Tube videos, but nothing like learning from someone who owns one. Anyone?

They are kind of like the snipe..... just need to sneak up on them and flash them with a light.

They seem to be great little rifles, just wish they weren't $1500

Would be nice to see a US based company make a nice bull pup that could compete with the rifle.

all they need to do is make a bull pup kit for the Mrod, like the guy on the yellow. a stock  and a trigger unit...wala Marauder bullpup








there is another picture i was thinking of but I could not find it.....the point is that the mrod is a perfect platform for a bullpup. SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE A KIT!!!

Bullpup = Fullsize rifle in a compact package..

their true advantage is as firearms.. a P90, Famas,etc. But those advantages are the same as airguns. and I want one


p.s. a stock mrod is 44''.....with that action in a bullpup config it would be 28-30''

a foot is a lot....and also less weight

I thought I was all alone here, so I responded for my own amusement.   There's a thread in this forum where the issue is to contact other airgun makers and urge them to create a Bullpup to challenge the Edgun Matador PCP. I've contacted several of the manufacturers listed there in that interest. I agree with Woogie_man in that the Edgun costs too much for me. I've watched Youtube  videos of this remarkable Bullpup and could only dream of ever owning one. CitySniper, those are some impressive pictures, and show what an American competitor to the Edgun might look like. Certainly the Marauder is a popular platform, and it's reasonably priced. Those pictures show it's not too much of a leap to see An American PCP Bullpup produced for the masses. I'm optimistic is would sell well even in this down-turned economy (people here are still buying airguns ). I don't know what the business plan was for the Edgun, but it can't be so unique as to be prohibitively exclusive to small-scale manufacturers. Can it? If nothing else, maybe we just buy Mrods, then buy kits ala the pictures CitySniper (that handle must have a story behind it!) posted
Until then, I'll keep dreaming. Or worse yet, I'll get a Norica Goliath 88 break-barrel BUllpup.

I've shot RFMs a few times.  Incredibly well built and balanced.  As I understand it they are very well regulated and consistently accurate shooters.  I know Rich has all three calibers and perhaps a dup fourth Edgun.  From a guy that has seen them all this is pretty high praise.

Yes the advantage is the very small package.  It would be much nicer carrying that small package around in the woods than a very long Mrod.  Plus if you've shot from a hide, to swing a long rifle around feels like you're waving a flagpole.  A Bullpup is nice in close quarters you can't deny.

That said I didn't like pressing my cheek up against the breech.  Granted I only shot it a few times but I'm not so sure that I'd ever get used to it. 

Yes the price is pretty high.  Not sure that I'd spend that kind of dough but if I hunted more I would seriously consider it.  It is a killing machine.

Therein, perhaps, lies the opportunity of a lifetime for some other ag manufacturer to fill the void. Who wouldn't want the performance of an Edgun without the price? Who will step up? CitySniper has the right idea: a conversion kit for the Mrod. Benjamin\Crosman could go us one better and come out with a proper Bullpup. What if it out-gunned the Edgun?

There have been a few people that have made the QB line of rifles into bullpups.

Been thinking about doing something like it, since I got my QB. Been doing some drawings for the rifle, but the hardest part to figure is the trigger mech.

I have made bulpup from QB78. I am not home now but when I get home I can post a pictures of it. It is one of the best handling guns I have owned. BTW, I do own Edgun as well and at first I didn't understand why would anyone like the bullpup style of gun? But when I got it and started to shoot it I fell in love with it. I do admit that the concept of traditional rifle stock is very strong and I guess that's why people kind of sceptical about the action of the gun being pressed against the face. But I guess to each it's own and as for me I fell in love with it because it comes to my shoulder as if it is extention of my body and my eye aligns with the scope naturally. And they accuracy is one of the best out there. The most amazing thing about it is the number of very consistant shots that I get from my Edgun. It is regulated and mine is long version that gets me 105 shots with 18gr JSB pellets with average velocity of 880fps.

Hi there!
Well, since bullpup QB is made by me and I am by no means proffesional at it, there is no comparison between both. Qb bullpup shoots like QB rifle does just the reason I made bullpup out of it to make it shorter.
Edgun is profesionally built rifle with incredable tollerances and it is built like tank- very strong but light as well. The trigger is two stage adjustable and the gun is regulated and not temperature sensitive like CO2 QB is. I don't think you can or should compare them.

they cost around $1200 used, and around $1500 new shipped here. I think you can only compare them to guns in that price range like FX or something..


But then what if I want customer support? or spare parts like o-rings... I'd have to wait from parts from Russia! I'm sorry but if i'm dropping that kind of coin I want a gun from a company around for years, or even better here in the USA.

i'd buy an compact airforce talon SS first.....almost a bullpup, but not quite...So someone better just make some kits for my Mrod. haha, I love this gun

Yeah, it is pricey gun indeed. I had to sell two of my guns to buy this one just because I heard so much about it and really wanted to try it out. And if I don't like it the resell value is very good as well. But I got totally hooked on it.
And I think CitySniper is right about the spare parts- it would be difficult to get them. But then, I am russian myself and if I really in need I can get some on my next trip to Russia:) In all seriousness though, my thoughts about parts are these: most of the o-rings we can find here in the US, if there is problem with the barrel-we have some guys who works on custom stuff and I think they can turn a barrel for you. I think US has most of the things that Russia has in terms of parts. The only thing that I would worry about is regulator. That is why I am going to order one or two extra ones just in case so I can have them on hand if all the communication and shipping with Russia stops for some reason :)But I have not heard anyone reported any problem with regulators yet or I might have missed the post about it.
Anyway, personally I think you need to have one to trully find out for yourself if you like it or not. Most people who has them love them including me and I was trully scaptical about russian airgun even though I am russian. But reports and reviews from american guys convinced me to buy one. I am glad I did!
