Just received my new (ancient) 600. Luckily it is in great shape. Found the service manual online and fixed a feed problem right away. The dimensions of the feed-arm (that picks up the pellet and rotates it into firing position) is too short for a lot of the modern .22 pellets I have around, but wadcutter and most round nose work fine.
Fifty years ago I bought one of these from a cousin on vacation. He had a CO2 cartridge jammed and did not know what to do. I brought it home secretly (step monster was a rabid gun hater) and got it up and running. After a few months of fun in the fields of Playa Del Rey, Calif, the monster found the gun and turned it over to the cops like it was a live grenade.
A bit of reverse Karma to pick one up decades later and start to relive the fun of a semi auto pellet pistol. The action is a bit Rube Goldberg perhaps compared to newer stuff, but I love it. Quite decent trigger.
Amazed that all the seals seem to be in good shape.
Loud little sucker though.

The 600 is one of the best guns ever built by Crosman. It was never intended to shoot anything by wadcutters, and is among the most CO2 hungry guns you can own. Sounds like you got a good one.
