Hatsan Striker 1000s?

Even though I've been shooting/ hunting and reloading for 35+ years I'm just getting into air rifles.

I have ordered a .22 Striker 1000s just to get rid of pesky squirrels and other critters but I'm now wondering if I made a wise decision. Since ordering I've read where the Hatsans are a hit or miss on quality and accuracy. Also that they have to be stripped down and "gone through" just to clean up undesirable QC issues.

For you Hatsan owners, what's your opinion?

I love mine...the generation thats being sold now is better than the one i had last year(got recalled).Its powerful and accurate,the trigger is predictable after awhile.Fairly quiet after a the normal break in period.MY wife calls it friendly compared to my mod 95 in terms of size and weight.You my friend have made a good choice.I hope you enjoy your new rifle...oh and you may need to adjust the paralex setting on the scope. Not a bad scope either..im still using it because its clear and it holds zero

I've also killed countless squirrels,starlings,pigeons and crows with the Striker 1000s:) i love that gun.

Thanks Phantom. Your experience sure makes me anxious to get mine.

 I have had cheap a Daisy 177 pellet rifle for the last 15 or 20 years that I've just kept around to burn stray dogs in the yard. Pretty easy to hit a big target but anything small is safe.

With the new Striker I hope I can get rid of the apple stealing squirrels in my yard and the squirrels that have invaded my building in town.

Phantom- I've ordered a couple of sampler packs of pellets from JSB and H&N to try. Which pellet and weight do you find is the most accurate in your gun?

The H&N pellets do really well in my hatsans(in .25 cal as well)..but the CPHP(14.3) from walmart are really effective and readily purchased

I just received an email saying that my Striker is out for delivery today. Hopefully I can read the manual, give it a thorough inspection and clean it this evening.

From what I've read it's good to shoot it a lot before mounting the scope.

Is there a sticky describing the proper break in procedure?
