Wonderful news CW.
That is some great news....
Don't leave us "hangin'"! I've been following this from the first post. Did you get the borrowed 1 back? Pics? Any progress on the "other" 1 you've been bringing back to life?
Really looking forward to hearing how she shoots CW. Don't spare the eye candy either.Scotty
Me too! I am curious which pellet he recommends and what FPE your steroided Blue Streak is pumping out.
Timmy recommended the 13.7 JSB domes for mine and they are devastating.....I did a couple of shots over the chrony at the fun shoot and was getting in the mid 600's with 8 pumps and over 800 with 14 pumps...
I know whats quoted, 25-26 FPE.. that caught my attention!
I double the valve capacity of the gun but it is still limited by the length of the factory barrel. The more you pump the more energy it can make provided the pellet hasn't departed. This means the only way to get the power these guns are capable of is to use heavier than average to extremely heavy ammo. That will not result in an impressive velocity figure but if you understand energy it is an impressive 25 fpe with a Heavy 28.5 grain pellet.Pump Pnuematic, CO2 and PCP guns will generally yield higher power levels with the heavier pellets. Thiose same poellets generally have a better BC than FAST lead. So when you have a gun that shoots higher BC pellets at higher Energy than low BC pellets the Heavies should be the obvious choice and moreso the farther you try to reach out.Going slower has trajectory issues associated with the speed but the worse the conditions become the better the heavier choice will be for groups.Speed is entirely overated.Resistance goes up @ the square of the velocity so it is very difficult to get better results by going too fast.Merchandising has guys telling me they need 1000 fps in .22 but I know better and I say you are wrong. 900 is way better with some real mass going downrange. I'm a shooter and I know what works. Speed doesn't do anything except sell ignorant people the wrong caliber. It is after all the number so many can get behind but it is a function of both speed and mass that has the downrange desired effect. The use of extremely light projectals is idiotic and I will not be a party to quoting speeds with non-lead projectals.Salesman do that stuff based on the fact that implied you need speed or you just can't get it up.So the bottom line is Speed will be impressive when you shoot plastic tiny pellets out of springers or PCP's but the plasticpellets don't actually do anything except generate savage chrono data. At the actual target the are effectively confetti.Pumps make POWER. SPEED don't matter!
Wow! 14 pumps! I thought it was max 8 or 10 pumps. I had no idea that his steroid work would allow that many pumps.Quote from: OleTomCat on July 15, 2013, 07:23:31 PMTimmy recommended the 13.7 JSB domes for mine and they are devastating.....I did a couple of shots over the chrony at the fun shoot and was getting in the mid 600's with 8 pumps and over 800 with 14 pumps...I want to say that those numbers sound almost unbelievableQuote from: cwlongshot on July 15, 2013, 07:43:18 PMI know whats quoted, 25-26 FPE.. that caught my attention!
