Up and down when moving into position isn't a problem. I was wondering about when it is already extended and you have it shouldered, does it move then?

So, I found an older 1377 at a garage sale and bought it which then prompted me to buy a new one and I promised myself that I would not modify it in any way as its just for messing around in the back yard. This morning I installed the Steel breech kit that I bought and mounted a red dot that I had lying around to it. I bought the second 1377 because I enjoy pistol shooting but now that the red dot and breech are installed I find myself considering the stock grip for it. Seeing that I already have a pellet rifle it seems silly to add the stock but then I am not against doing silly things.... A few pictures with the breech kit and red dot installed.

I put the Crosman skeleton stock on both my 1377 and my 1322. Makes a really compact, fun, and fast handling combination. I like them both. Right now, the 1377 has a BSA red dot sight on it.

About to pull the trigger on a new 1377 at Pyramid. Is the steel breech worth it or should I save my money for a different aftermarket breech?

Nothing wrong with the Crosman steel breech. It's much beter than the plastic one for sure. There are some nice aftermarket breeches but in my opinion they mainly upgrade the looks unless you want a left side cocker ot multi-shot.

+1 for the steel breech.
I believe it is the first mod to be done. Once you desire to improve from the original Blade Sight / Peep that is the best bang for the buck.
Alchemy and others offer some with a left side bolt and made out of aluminum.... but the steel Crosman is awesome.
Notice I didn't say left handed... some right handed shooters find it easier with the bolt on the left side. Up to you.

Now, long or short?
If you want to upgrade the sights with an LPA or even a Williams like on the 2300S, the short is fine...
But if you want to someday add optics like a scope or red-dot it's easier with the long breech

Now, along those lines
I just got my BSA RD30 mounted and am not looking back! So much easier to point and shoot.

What about the Alchemy Airworks Brass breech? That looks nice.

There is one cheaper from Industry Brands, but I'm not sure how good it is. Last I checked it was cheaper than $42.

That BSA RD30 I just posted was $24 ... Amazon it...
I too could not grasp the price of an LPA or Williams at first so I tried the Industry Brand.
The issue with the Chinese Industry is the elevation. Original top Phillips screw head is too tall and blocks the front sight.
Davio at Alchemy sold me mine with a screw that the head was machined down to clear your view. That and an extended front sight on the Muzzle brake was JUST enough.

This duo collection is awesome! Did the grips really come with the darker in-fill? Really highlights the forearm and grips nicely. Thanks for sharing.

I have a few pump guns, a 2289; 1322 (newer) and a PC77. I will have to get some images posted up on this thread.
