After buying a few RWS airguns I finally bought my first new HW50S and boy am I impressed. This thing is beautiful. I like the checkerd stock and the handsome wood and as I expected no crunchiness or anything sounding like metal to metal or grinding..no galling happening (didn't expect any). The cocking is more than advertised but less than my Benjamins and my RWS350. Maybe a bit more than my RWS 34. This was the cleanest gun I have ever received so it took no time before I was shooting it. I'm not planning to do a tune on this anytime soon, just going to enjoy it the way it left Weirhrauch's factory. Very impressive first day indeed

I've shot a few more rounds thru her and have a few more observations...I was extremely anxious to see what all the excitement was about the record trigger and it doesn't disappoint. But I must say its no nicer than the T06 on my Diana34..both wonderful triggers. The blueing is a bit nicer than all my Diana's but not nearly as nice as my TX200 whose trigger I like just a bit less than the aforementioned ones. The machining is superb...fit and finish the same...the size and weight is a nice change from what I'm used to and since I shoot mostly inside in my 55 ft basement range the power is perfect...this appears to be a real keeper. Now need to save up for a HW97. Lol..

The HW30s is like your first Tonka truck, at least a 60's Tonka I suppose they are compromised these days. I agree the T06 is amazing, the Blueing on the AA is better. I hope HW can keep the price on these gems in the $300 range US.

OK first congrats on your new rifle! Let me say this to you about the trigger, you need to properly adjust it! out of the box I can see how you can compare it to the T06 but if you adjust it correctly you will see theirs no comparison in them JMO

Agree about a correctly adjusted Rekord, however I have no T06 experience for comparison. Here is a link to tuning a Rekord trigger, however it's attached mainly to show how to adjust the "trigger pull screw" and the "trigger creep screw" (the forbidden screw

). IMHO, it's definitely not a good idea for someone to do the complete disassembly/reassembly unless they have good mechanical aptitude!

I was so excited about my new gun I put the wrong one in...lol...its a Hw50s..I was just talking to my son prior to posting and he wants a 30s and is thinking if buying. Had that one on my mind...lol...wondered why people were mentioning the 30s. I changed my original post...sorry....

thats petey on a mission to rescue a fine hw in trouble. it saves on gas prices as petey does house calls free for hw guns as he wil be shootin them ... hows that petey?

Great choice in rifle in getting the HW50 girwin. Its going to be a nice little carbine-length rifle with no shortage of power and accuracy. I'm looking forward to hearing more about how it shoots. It looks like its ready to go since you have the scope already on it.

All kidding aside, you're going to love that gun.
Perhaps Calmark can tell us a little about the Rekord vs. the T06 trigger since he's had both.
