An amazingly beautiful day (I am running out of superlatives) greeted the CASA boys for a great match. Winds were projected to be 10 mph by 10am but the wind started out light. Half way through the match we got what we
were waiting for and I measured wind at up to 8 mph on my Kestrel.

Our range is absolutely open. There is no filtering the wind through trees and we get full value winds over the full distance to the target. This made the 3/8 target at 18 yds somewhat challenging at least for me. I had winds of about 6-8 mph. Some of the longer sets were also challenging with quartering winds that switched from right to left and left to right in a nano second. No one came close to cleaning the course so I guess it was set at the right difficulty level for the conditions.

Target one in lane 5 was giving trouble due to a swivel that was catching on the brick. Most recognized the partial falls as hits, including me. I looked over the cards and the spread was such that if I awarded ALL hits to all shooters it would not have changed the outcome of the match so I am leaving it as is. I did deduct 3 points from my own score after reflection about lane # 6. I hit that KZ three times and it did not move. I went down and fixed the angle of the target and knocked it down 3 times in quick succession but no one else had that opportunity so I will not take the points. I told Kelly that I would not take the points if the match was close but decided not to take them at all.   

The next match at Heavens Ranch in April will be the beginning of the CASA Grand Prix. It will involve both venues and will last from April to September.
