Advice for new scope for disco

This will be a bench scope for target shooting.
My preferences...

-56mm objective lens (unless you can convince me on a 50mm objective)
-Side wheel adjustment
-Something greater then 20 power on max setting
-Keep the budget under $200

What are my options?

After cursing for scopes I can't seem to find much...Are there any side wheel scopes that go past 16 power?

Only one I can find is the 8-32x56 UTG.

Yes, there are scopes that magnify greater than 16X with side focus...  opticsplanet.com has a huge selection of scopes in a wide variety of price ranges.  I don't think you'll find too many that magnify more than 16X under $200, though.

Smaller objective would work in your favor for a better cheek weld against the stock if you're using a bnm multishit breech and barrel shroud which raises the scope height above what it is with the oem disco. I personally have found that a scope any larger than a 40mm obj using either medium or low rings would be too high in my case with my average size head. I never used a scope on the oem disco so I don't know what size obj is best with it if that's what you shoot.

The 20x magnification plus 56mm is going to narrow your options. Found that a lot of scope that state high magnifications don't really have them as they become unusable beyond 16x.

Good thing is that with the PCP you can use any of the rifle scopes out there. The bad is that most will be well out of the $200 price range.

Yes I have seen that scope and it is on my list!

I am in a bind here though, not to mention I am very bad when it comes to making a decision. I can't decide whether I want to go with a huge 50 or 56 obj. lens or just stick to the 32,40, or 44...My wallet is telling me to stick with the smaller obj sizes since these aren't the highest quality scopes in the world, but my trigger finger is telling me BIGGER is better.

Any experience between the small vs large obj lenses you guys have would be appreciated!

Depends on the scope but my 40mm scope is great. No need for a larger obj since it has a clear bright sight picture. Scope info and reticle view shown in my sig link.

I think so too. I've gotten used to it now, just took some time. I never shoot far enough to use more than a 4 mil hold anyway so it's no concern.

I guess your right! I don't like to go more then 4 either otherwise I lose count...

Why are you wanting a larger objective lens?  Are you planning on shooting a lot in low light?  For air rifle ranges there's not much to be gained by going over 50mm and most of us will do very well with the light gathering abilities of a 44, 40 or even a 32 mm.

For what it's worth, I use the 44mm and find it plenty bright at dusk. But I don't have anything over 16x.

Got a bushnell 9-24x50 on mine with high rings. WOrks great
