I just got mine 2 days ago but love it so far. It worked great on my first test on an overcast day...no errors. It didn't work in my basement but looking to make a light kit or buy the one for it but it isn\t cheap Here are my first test results if it helps.

Can't compare it to any to any others, as the Pro Chrono is the only one I ever owned. I am a new air gunner. I have only used it outdoors, and has worked great so far. I got the occasional err msg, but not very often. I like the long shot strings you can get with it. Say if your testing several pellets, you can shoot up to 99 shots for each pellet, changing strings in between. It's a nice unit. I plan to buy or make a deflector, as many have shot their chronos (not brand specific either). I have used it at the 1 yrd range as well as out to 45 yards. I was very careful to make sure of my shot placement before I shot to that range. I am happy with it.

I've had my ProChrono Digital for a year now, and I prefer it marginally over the Shooting Chrony Beta I have, because it never seems to give errors in low light, while the Beta does - Sometimes..!! Apart from that, they are both good. I might not use my chrony's as much as some but I have given the ProChrono a good workout and it's more than up to the task... Oh, I use mine only in a basic mode. I don't go for the fancy strings etc. Each shot gets its own separate reading and I write them in a notebook for future reference...

After at least 4 Shooting Chronys I purchased a Competition Electronics Pro Digital. I have never had an error message and use it indoors mostly. I also purchased the IR light bars and plastic cover. It is amazing how many times it gives the "dup" message showing me the pistol or rifle is shooting at the same fps as in a recent shot. I also like the 9 strings of 99 shots. Having the ability to record 891 shots is nice even if you don't need all of that memory space. With all that memory I never need to erase some shot strings so I can check the velocity on another firearm.

I just got one and tried it Saturday. I kept getting Err message and didn't register shots. It as sunny outside. I tried it in the shade and in the sun with and without the plastic covers. It may be operator error but I don't know what I was doing wrong. It is going back tomorrow for another one. PA said very few are returned due to defects. So may be me.

I have had nothing but good experiences with the Procrono Digital. It is easy to use, and works great. I use it outside mostly and have never seen an error message on its screen.

Thanks for the input.
I bit the bullet and ordered one today and should have it tomorrow. Seems they are very close to my location.
After some use I will report back with details.
