R1 Santa Rosa .20

Nostalgia time! Thanks to you all, and some other helpful forums, I can finally cross this one off the long HW/Beeman "most wanted" list! My newfound love of these German beauties has grown into "addiction" magnitude! I particularly enjoyed the video posted awhile back by our great moderators of the HW factory. Hand made German craftsmen at work. This particular R1 was purchased from Dr. Beeman's store when it was in Santa Rosa, along with the original Blue Ribbon scope, and was tuned by Beeman techs at the time of sale. The original owner stated he purchased the rifle, never shot it more than 5 times, and locked it in the gunsafe ever since. He even included the original sales receipt and custom tuning crono result! Its my baby and truly a one-of-a-kind find. Just had to share this beauty with you all!
Thanks,
AirTrigr

Thanks for the gratitude! I feel very fortunate to have found this little gem. I have shot it, and it does very well with JSB exacts. Dime sized groups at 30 yrds. Nikoman the Blue Ribbon scope is a 4-12x40. I have the original scope mounts, but actually want to squirrel hunt with this classic, so temporarily replaced the high Beeman rings with these medium double strap BKL's because the height suits me better. I think it would be a pity for this rifle to never see the "field", let alone never harvest small game... This rifle is everything I ever dreamed of in a classic German made spring rifle! More pics for ya'll!
Thanks for enjoying this with me!

Words cannot describe what I see there!
I've come up with one word to sum it up....
"Class".
That's it
It would be a real shame to just lock it up in a safe, you have the right idea there and live a little with that gun!

Congrats! I've got that same gun (not tuned though) bought new ordered from Beeman in '92 or so. At the time you could select a couple of options: select group, select wood, and select scope angle or some such (presumably less or no barrel droop). Each cost like $5. I only ticked the select group box; factory target that came with the gun was 1 very small hole. She's a little wore out now. Shoots JSB 13.78s at only 660fps but silky smooth; I think I'll keep her this way.
You are gonna love that gun. Huge but gosh what great guns they are. Getting that tuned R1 and that scope was a fantastic find!

Speaking of "class", yes that sums it up, especially for the good folks that frequent this forum! Guys, I am honored to be the latest keeper of this amazing piece of German/American craftsmanship. And, I greatly appreciate your information, thought, and emotion that comes to surface after allowing me to share this unique rifle with you. There are many great and now historic airguns that represent the American airgun revolution, but to me when I think of them all, first and foremost that comes to mind for me is the Beeman R1. I remember reading about this rifle as an early teen, and now as an adult many years later, it finally has found it's way to me. I enjoy and feel fortunate to have all my many German beauties, but this is the only rifle I honestly couldn't do without!
Thanks again,
