I have been thinking about this topic for quite some time now, and jman's post made me think about it more today. I was wondering what it would be like to build a discovery pistol with a stock 2240. and what all parts you would need to order, and what it would cost....you would really only need the air tube and its inside components/contents right??? has anyone done this? i know that mellon air offers them, but they are very expensive. just messing around with photoshop i made a pic of a discovery pistol. this would be assuming that you used the trigger group from the discovery too. and cut the stock down and finished it. in order to build one like in the picture, you would have to pretty much have an entire rifle, which would be kinda pointless. this was just for fun though. thought i'd share. As being an artist, sometimes my imagination wonders. lol wouldn't that be cool to have a pistol like in the picture for a hunting sidearm??? I'd bet you could take some game with that! lol

I dont know why people wont help me on this but no-one will answer my question on my post. I just wonder if a special valve is needed and what keeps the filling piece held into the tube.Would a discovery tube fit a 2240 upper and lower, or would special cuts besides shortening it need to be made for it to be put in?Ive seen people put a 2240 lower on a discovery to make one a pistol before, and the man on rane air modifys 2240's to 2400's which look somewhat like a discovery pistol. It can be done, but there is no info anywhere and Im sure the tuners wont tell how they do it

look at the manual for both crosman guns and compare them side by side. also look at the part numbers. you will more than likely find your answer that way. i am gonna check it out in a little bit. I dont see why you couldnt just buy the disco tube assembly and all of its components right on a 2240 gripframe. then add the steel breech and barrel. here is something that i found as well. might help..

if you look at the pic, its nothing more than the tube assy, the rest is 2240. you would have to use the discovery breech. and i don't think the valve would fit in a 2240 tube. there was a website that i found a long time ago that gave instruction on the subject but i can't find it now. i will let you know if i do...oh and i don't KNOW any of this for sure, it's just what i THINK, so if anyone else knows they may correct me.

Have you poked around over there yet? I will do some Googling and see what I find. Also, Crosman is supposed to release a Marauder Pistol soon. By the time you purchase parts and go thru all the stress of hoping your build is successful you could be enjoying one holers with it for probably the same price or cheaper. Good luck, I'm sure others will chime in, I am sure as I have found most all are eager to lend advise on subjects they are versed in.

Ray, Im trying to be patent.haha I could order a 2240 PCP shooting 800fps in .22 for around $250-$280 from rane air, its just the fact that if I did that I wouldnt have a pump or the money for one. Thats the only thing holding me back....the pump!

or you can build one... i cut mine down and i am using a 1377 barrel with a homemade shroud. i got a breech riser and used the trigger unit from the 2240. is a pistol, is a carbine, is a .177, is a .22, is quiet, and practical, but most of all it was built out of broken guns/part guns. cost about 80 dollars. it gives me 16 consistent shots at 700 fps with superdomes .177. and when i say neighborhood friendly, i could target practice in church with the priest giving the sermon...lol. is that understated. i get more shots in .22 but i am shooting 540 fps... so it stayed a .177. i started playing with a 2240... the pcp is not much different. if you FUBAR, is ok, they are cheap and all the parts are available from crosman. the long barrel, you ask? it may give me more speed but then it ould not fit in my backpack... so it ended up in my 1760 bulk fill, also built from scraps... i'll post pictures, but please dont laugh... the disco is pretty the way a beat up AK47 is pretty... the 1760?... i think i should send it to crosman... they could learn a thing or two...

The man to speak to would be roy weid (mountainair)roy and I will plan on making me a couple co2 pistols maxed out using the 2240 platform I chose co2 cause I live in the desert and 8 months out the year it will be over 80 here and and 4 Out the 8 months

will be over 100 so its sizzling here about the same weather as lasvegas or arizona but with more winds so co2 is all for me as with my qb78 but I do want massive co2 power so roy weid is the man for the job and also hpa .I have a modded 2250xt. Pushing cphp 14.3 at 702 fps ,I plan on doing a 4 pistol deal a .25 a .20 and using the 1377 platform a .25 and a regular.177 (I need pumpers for the winter)

ive done a few crosman 22xx pistols now
one option is get a none roll stammped tube( custom shop)
you can use stock valve but its easier to get a B&A maxflo disco valve from Bryan and Associates.
drill a hole in each side of the tube where the Valve holding screw go
3 screws secure the valve in place
as for the fill cap
get a threaded fill cap and screw it into the tube
also sold a B&A
then drill and pin the cap in place
that all there is to this mod
the fill it to around 1800 PSI
if ya wanna go to 3000 PSI get a Discovery tube and cut it to the desired lenght and do the same to it

seems like this question is being asked in different places on different forums . i think i answered this question a few times in the last week
i have a discovery pistol and like you i couldnt find any answers .it was a secret society thing i thought.
so here i am to help i hope this dont violate any posting terms here but this is the best post i could find on 22xx pcp conversion

to me a 2240 would be a waste as there would be no shot count 2 maybe 4 at the most
i took the easy route and cut down a discovery tube to make my pistol

i modded her to shoot 38fpe ending around 32fpe no change in poi/poa for my shooting distance

wow... like i said. mine will hold about 18 shoots (consistent shots). then about 10 more and then is empty. I fill mine to 1900 psi. if i go higher the shots are way slower until it gets to about 2000/1900 psi... then she rips. even as a pistol (with black 2240 grips and a 2x20 pistol scope) it works well for silhouette. you just refill it every 8 shots and is that consistent. I have tried to get it to be more powerful but it messes with my stealth factor.

my question is if you get the disco tube and have to cut it down, don't you need threadding at the end you cut down?? for the fill adapter?
