Well I brought out the "Black Beauty" again today to get some shoot time. This gun gets better all the time........no target time but I was shooting the steel and the gun seemed to be hitting hard and where I put her! Something about a well made German springer that brings a

to your face!

i been lookin at 1 of those fine hw-97's and am hpoin i can turn the extra $$$ for 1 . if its anything like my hw-55 its superior to the rest . i love shootin my 55 at paper , but its not a hing power gun. but the rekord trigger is second to none

I agree. A springer doesn´t get any better than this. A Vortek PG2 tuned HW97 in cal. 20. 830+ fps with 11.4 gr H&N FTT´s and it´s ridiculously accurate. Have a special ball bearing trigger on the way so i think the Rekord trigger will get a bit better still.

Is that a suppressor on the end of barrel or a weight?

It is factory installed moderator that is METAL having a screw on end cap, tho hollow inside.
Made a short multi segment baffle insert for my sons 97k further quieting it.

just said it´s a hollow chamber as is but it can be easily made to a moderator (which i´ve done) for no cost if you have a 4 inch spring with ID around 3/8" and a little bit of Scotch Brite to roll over the spring. Then just fit it inside the chamber which is a screw-on. Use either 7mm hex head or #45 Torx key. Works amazingly well BTW. Some guys add weight around the inside of the chamber instead and use it as muzzle weight - some even make cuts/holes around it to make it act as a muzzle brake /air stripper of a kind.

I´ll let you know about that trigger.

Just bought a HW97K .22 with blue laminate stock today from PA. Should get it by Thursday. Looking forward to getting some good information from you that have one concerning best pellets for it, etc. I read so many good things about it that had to have one. The forum was a great help in choosing it.

I love my HW97k blue laminate "Blue Max" in .177 so much that I sold all my other AG's! In fact I used it to win the last off-season match that just ended. You will not be disappointed. I polished mine so it shines and has more "pop". I also added bling from Tim Einck. Totally satisfied.

Tim does nice work. I have one of his bronze triggers and brass safeties on my HW97 (the brass and bronze match). I bought the trigger for the setback but the safety is pure bling.

I will try to figure out how to attach a picture by the time it arrives. Not much choice for pellets near where I live. Should have checked with all of you prior to ordering so I could have ordered some at the same time. Plan to go to Jacksonville, Fl next week and will check while there. I can always order them but thought they would be easy to find locally.

Those are made by H&N. So-actually they are H&N FTT Power sold in a Beeman tin ..

The gun, scope, rings, etc arrived safely yesterday afternoon. Checked it over, got the 3-9X50 scope mounted today and went out to see about getting zeroed. I am still a little shakey from all the radiation treatments but had to see how she shoots. Got it close before I got tired. Started off shooting a little high and about 4 inches to the right. Just kept adjusting over until I was just about dead on and then dropped down to near zero at 25 yds. I was shooting the RWS Superdome Field Line 14.5g pellets I had. I hope to get my bench set up tomorrow and then see what it will do. I have some of the pellets on order that you good shooters recommended and will check in Jacksonville. I don't think that cocking it is any harder than a Benjamin 397P. The trigger is pretty good without any adjustment. I will work on tweaking it later. No use trying to shoot it off hand until I get over all these treatments. Just happy to be able to get out and shoot it. Again, thanks for steering me to a gun that I am glad I bought. I have tried to check on how to add a photo but haven't found anything yet. If someone will tell this old man where that info is located, you will get to see a picture of a beautiful HW97K.
