talon ss blooper shot?

I am new to this so help please.New to me talon ss 22. Tank filled to 3000 psi.Every so often i get one or two that are quiet and about 5" low and  at 25 yards.It also seems after the low shot the next two or so are louder.It strings them up and down than back to good shooting.I have topped the tank a few times and it is still doing it.

Further shooting found the bolt not seating consistently on the tophat.Should it be a tight fit?its pretty loose and doesn't "snap" together like i thought they did.

On my TSS the breech closes snugly over the tophat and stays that way.  I don't believe there should be any play there.

The hammer might also be binding which would give inconsistent velocity.

Do i need to lube it in any way?

Is it possible that you've lost your breech o-ring?  Without that the breech won't seal tightly to the tophat and velocity will be inconsistent.  You should be able to see the o-ring in a groove just inside the rear of the breech when it is open.

I have been careful to pull it back firmly and i have none of the bloopers now.It isn't a very tight fit though.It has to be pulled back about 1/8" past the notches for the bolt to turn into.
