MROD Wow! opened up the air res and was shocked!

I took the de-pinger out (and will put it back I guess) and found lots of aluminum shavings? Down the tube..
Guess I didn't look that well when i initially did the de-ping.
Is this normal?? and how do people go about removing it (can't be good to have bits of metal in the air res)
Also, since I'll be into it.. what else is recommended I do in there.. as well.. if the o-rings are fried are there replacements that are high enough viton in hardware stores/homedepot/lowes etc?

i had the same in mine. fairly common. usually comes from the gauge block.

degass it completely. dry fire it a few times to be sure. disassemble. clean everything. inspect all the orings for cuts/flat spots. you can usually feel it even when its hard to see. wipe the orings liberally with divers silicone grease. i would also try and wipe all the components with a very light coating as well. then careful reassemble. pay attention to all orings as the pass the openings in the tube. this is where they get cut. then add air, pellets and shoot.

Nope that is not normal. I have had mine apart many times, valve , gauge block all the way out and apart and I have never seen any metal shavings in my air tube. But if you have ever had your gun apart ....The Gauge port is easy to strip those threads because it is aluminum and the adapter is steel, that would be a source of shavings.

Like suggested above I would take that gun all the way apart and clean and inspect... take out that valve, take it apart/inspect and reassemble.

Never had the gauge out so that isn't it.. I'll ask a neighbor for a wire coat hanger all plastic here) and try to get her clean...

You can just push it out with a old barrel, tent pole, doweling, ect... Something long enough, and strong enough

Anyone know how tight the gauge assy goes back in? Looks like the gauge is now on the opposite side.. maybe put the gauge block in with opposite end and threads are 180 deg other way?
