QB78 Hammer Pin part #0900

Is the Hammer Pin supposed to have a flat side? And if it does which direction does the flat side face?
I am not talking about the Cocking Pin with four flat sides.

Got this QB off of CList and am almost ready to put it back together and the hammer pin has a flat side.
It was real grimy/gooey inside among other things so I cleaned it up and polished it some.

Also, I have read 4 different tuning tips guides and each one recommended a different type of lubrication on the Hammer Spring.
Ranging from light oil, Moly oil, light grease and heavy grease. I may tether it to HPA after testing with CO2.

Should I just use a bit of diver's silicone or something else?

the rear pin has the flats on it, should be square on the top. Light oil on the striker and if the cocking block feels rough then a light coating of grease on it, don't use the silicone. Best thing for roughness here is to polish the inside of the tube down to around 600 grit or 1500 or 2000, polish up the striker and cocking block also but don't go super smooth on the cocking block they tend to hang up if you remove to much material...

I have put the pin for the stiker in the cocking block with no problems, if it works no need to mess with it...

This would be like putting the cocking pin in the striker. I'll try it and see.
I have polished the tube and hammer to 1500 already. I can take up to 3200? I am taking my time doing this just to learn what I can. So am not in a hurry. Read some and do some work on it. Just want to get it ready by spring.

I have to get some grease unless I use wheel bearing grease. Any auto part/big-box store grease recommended lubes?

a thin coat on the cocking block of the wheel bearing grease will work OK, not much improvement beyond 600 grit so is good to go...
