Thanks to all the knowledgeable folks here, I tried a bit of gunsmithing. My Daisy Winchester 1000 (Turkish made) was not giving me the results I wanted so I tried to re-crown it.  I tried using a tapered stone in a drill and managed to cut into some of the lands which made the pellets fly all over.  So, because of what I read here, I cut about a 1/4" off of the barrel and re-crowned it again, (this time using a round head brass screw) better, but still not right. In checking the end of the barrel with a tri-square I realized that it was not square so I filed it square and re-crowned again and now I can put 5 shots in a 3/4" group @ 20yds. Actually put 3 CPHP through the same hole. So thanks to all of you for the "how to" posts.
