Someone please tell me about the the cold weather issues with their Rogue. I left my Rogue in a cold 28 degree garage overnight . When I took it out to shoot it made a pop but it nothing happened. The tank pressure was good to go at 2800 psi. So I changed the batteries with no luck. I cycled the bolt and attempted to fire with each attempt the gun would make a popping sound that got progressively louder with each cycle until the the fourth cycle sent the round bouncing down range at about thirty yards. After that the gun seems to work fine. Suspecting the cold weather to be the culprit, I kept the the gun in the house so when I brought it out the next day I was surprised to see the gun had the same symptoms. I sent a video the issues I was having with the gun to Crosman. They seemed to be very concerned and sent a UPS label to return the gun. They told me that the Humphrey valve failed and the gun could not be repaired so now I am waiting on a new Rogue. If anyone has had similar issues please let me know. I am still a fan of the Rogue and I understand that anything new has a few developmental bugs and for the most part I can live with that. What I don't want to happen is for me to have a animal in my crosshairs and have the weapon fail me that is unacceptable.

im in the market for a rouge, ive heard of problems with the cold being an issue. thats why i havent bought one yet. i lie in the norht east,i guess there still having problems....bummer hope you get it straighted out good luck...

LOL, "let daddy work." Good on you for involving the kids. Been there and done that.

I am certain that Crosman will take care of you. They have great customer service. Unfortunately they need to. Did you purchase it directly from Crosman or from a retailer like Pyramid Air? I only mention it as an alternative to returning it to Crosman for service, there are other 9mm rifles out there that shoot reliably from other manufacturers. Definatly get Crosman to make that right if you want to stick with the Rouge.

Thanks for the live link. I purchased my Rogue from Pyramid Air, before the Rogue I had a un-tuned Sam Yang 909S and I was not happy with it. Now Pyramid Air has Evanix 9mm Rain Storm plus a few other models in 9mm.
Don't get me wrong I am not disappointed with the Rogue, for the short time that it did work it was awesome. I am disappointed that mine turned out defective. I am sure Crosman will make it right

I'm really sorry to hear about your problem. My Rogue usually has what I like to call a cold start warm up period. Typically, when it's cold (sub 40°F) my rifle will fire a substandard shot the first time, but nothing like the issue you're having. Most typically what will happen is the first shot when cold will average 450 fps or so. After that, she will fling 'em down range at typical speeds. I've only noticed it when the rifle is cold, and I had attributed it to exactly that. I hope it isn't a mechanical issue, but I imagine I will have to wait until Springtime and warmer weather to see.

In any case, Crosman will definitely take care of you. With the Rogue being their flagship rifle, they provide the utmost priority and customer service with even the smallest of issues. Best of luck in getting your problem sorted out, and happy, safe shooting.

To correct my earlier statement in case you try to contact him. Lloyds user name here is lloyd-ss. He can also be found in the vendors gate under airgun labs.

As my signature line suggest I am a big bore enthusiast. In fact I just jumped in line to get a Rainstorm II in 9mm. I would not consider any hunting gun acceptable if it would not work under typical hunting conditions. PA has a return policy that would allow you to exchange it for one of the Evanix line, Windy city, Rainstorm etc. Especially since you are having problems. If you like the Rouge though, send it to Crosman and make them fix it. I would test the new or repaired one in the cold before the warranty expires though. Even if I had to make room in the fridge...LOL. Please keep us updated on your results.

What was the temperature when the malfunction occurred? Has it resolved itself upon warming up or does it continue to do the same thing no matter the temperature? I noticed in your video that it didn't seem that cold. I certainly would not want that to happen while I were hunting.

Let us know if the new one works out better for you. I have been eyeballing that Rogue for some time now. Looks like a very nice rifle. I was a bit surprised to see the kick on a PCP, I bet that thing is a MONSTER!

I just got off the phone with Crosman. They said my replacement Rogue is on its way and I will be sure to post a new video of her. I hope its cold as balls outside, so I can put her through it's paces.

Good to hear. PCP's are known to lose a lot of pressure when it is very cold, but not like what you experienced of course.

I agree 100%. All the rounds I shoot I cast my self. I had a custom mold made for the Nosler and Benjamin Pursuit bullets from Tom over at Accurate Molds.

As weather permits I hope to start back testing some rounds to figure out what mold to get. Just have not seen any posting of anyone using spherical projectiles.

Out of all the rounds I have shot through my Phase II Rogue, round ball is for me is the most accurate at 50 yards. I use a .358 round ball mold made by Ideal. See the last string 6:50 into the video I posted above. In the video I made a mistake and called them conical round balls, when I should have just called them round ball.

Have you miked any of the Benjamin Pursuit rounds that you have? I started miking mine out and discovered that they varied a lot both in diameter and roundness from round to round. Some were what I would refer to as oval shaped based on the dimensions that I was getting. A few of them were even smaller than bore diameter which would affect the accuracy. I ordered a bunch of different rounds from Matt's in .358 diameter pure lead unlubed and so far his have been really consistent in size. I'm still in pretty bad shape with my back so I don't have any targets to post but wanted to ask you about your experience with the Benjamin rounds. I have quite a few boxes of them that I got with my Rogue and been thinking about melting them down and recasting them into something usable. Are they any good for anything else?

What molds do you have?
From day one the Benjamin Pursuit rounds I use are not actual Benjamin rounds. I sent Tom from Accuratemolds.com a request to make me mold with the same specs as both the 160 grain and 125 grain Benjamin Pursuit rounds in .357 cal. The first batch I cast did not chamber well or group with any consistency. I thought the rounds just needed to be sized but that was not the problem. After doing a little research on castboolits.com and a lot practice. My bullets chamber well and mic at .358 with out sizing and they group very well but if you size them to .357 the groups tighten up even better. As for melting them down a .358 round ball mold is definitely winner with the Rogue
I hope your back gets better ,I myself am recovering from back surgery I feel your pain. $:-\$
