Benjamin Rogue Phase 2

Hey Guys
I am new to the GTA forum but not air guns. Just before Christmas I purchased a Sam Yang 909s from Pyramid Air. I was impressed with its power and the fact that it was light weight. but the trigger pull was a beast and the cocking lever started to bend after about 40 shots. So I sent the 909s back and purchased a Benjamin Rogue Phase 2, I installed a Center Point 4-16X40 scope. From day one I new I would not be using the expensive Nosler  ballistic tip Extreme  bullets. So I contacted Tim at accuratemolds.com and told him I needed a 3 cavity custom mold with rounds styled after Nosler extreme  ballistic tip 145 grain , Benjamin Pursuit 127 grain, and  Benjamin Pursuit 158 grain. In about three weeks he came up with a very nice mold with the  rounds weighing  125, 155, and 160 grains. I received the mold a week before I received my Rogue . After a small learning curve in the casting process I cast  1000  of each round out of soft lead. Then I built a bullet catch out of some scrap quarter inch steel and place it 50 yards down range with home made 3x5  shoot N see targets stapled on a 2x6 plank. Once the my Rogue arrived I tethered my SCBA tank  and I must say I am very impressed. All three rounds grouped well with a 3 inch spread. I will post pictures of the groups later this week. If there  are any other Rogue owners out their casting their own bullets and they work well for you let me know, I will be happy to swap some rounds.

Glad to get some feedback. I've had the 1st gen. Rogue for a while but haven't shot it extensively. Been using a hand pump till this past fall when I got a 4600 psi tank and the leased a 6000 psi nitrogen tank. Hunting season started and I am just now catching a breather. I hope to test several bullets soon and hope to get a mold once I figure out the more accurate rounds. Been shooting the 95 gr. hollow points and 145 Nosler. Got a box of 127 flat nose that are supposed to be accurate out of these things. Hope to hear and share the results of various bullets. Good luck.

great to here from a gen 2 rogue owner i am very interested in the rogue to shoot pigs up 100 yrds?and if its worth the coin?  how quiet is the gun? and have they fixed the problems of the extreme cold?    good luck with yur purchase and waiting to hear yur opinion...

I have no doubt that this gun will kill a pig ,deere, coyote,and pretty much anything else you can shoot in the head at 0 to 100 plus yards .
 I will be happy to send you a few rounds to try out.

Sounds great, thanks. I killed a nice sized beaver with a head shot from from about 20 yds. last weekend. I am the semi unofficial beaver trapper for our community lake and I use snares to catch them. They are alive and angry when caught. I set two snares last Sat., went back Sun. afternoon and carried the Rogue. I used a second shot to ensure a speedy demise. I loosed the snare from the log and called my neighbor. We have a deal, I catch them and he comes and gets them. I drug the beaver up the dam to his truck and there was a kid fishing from the bank.

He asked what kind of gun I had and then if I had used it to kill the beaver. I told him an airgun and yes. He said, "I didn't hear it." I told him that's why I brought it. I used a 95 gr. hollow point on med. power. The bullet made more noise than the discharge. There is more beaver sign so looks like I will get to sling some more lead soon.

Sipsey, you are hard core. I just use my Prod on anything in my traps. Granted the things I get in my traps aren't as big as beavers.

WOW!.... In Canada those things are protected, you need a trapper's license to take them, even if they dam up a stream and flood your property you can't kill or relocate them.... Idiotic....

Very nice..  After doing some research I purchased some Cast rounds from Hunters Supply..  A combination of flat nose and Hollow points..  Still need to try these out with my Rogue.

Hey fur, on the advice of another Rogue owner I tried some 68gr. roundballs and was surprised twice. That they fed well through the clip, and were pretty accurate. Try some.
