Anybody In N. Ky?
« on: February 07, 2013, 01:12:39 PM »
There have got to be some of us, no?

If there are, I'm wondering if we shouldn't be thinking Tri-state shooting rather than just state by state...

When hunting zombie starlings, there are two approaches. The first approach is the "Double-Tap". The alternative is cutting their heads off and putting toothpicks through their hearts.

It's your choice.

I am in N. Ky. I have recently got back into shooting airguns. I would like to find an outdoor area come springtime, so I can shoot farther than in my basement. I'm in the Taylor Mill area.

We've got one fellow in SW Ohio who's game. I'm trying to see if we can't round up several more. I'm also on the lookout for a large indoor space (such as a warehouse)  that we might use for an indoor shoot.

I'm sniffing around looking for folks near the I-275 loop. I think I recruited one Hoosier to the GTA board already. :) And there are two new Hoosier names interested too. It's a start!

My thinking is that in our area, neither Ky nor Indiana has enough shooters to reliable make for a single state local shoot, BUT, that if you combine the Tri-state we might. I've found one nice fellow on the east side who has space too shoot but I'm still looking for a central location. I'm also looking for a centralized INDOOR location.

Of course, If I can't find more than a couple people, it's hardly worth too much finagling. So, I'm putting out feelers. Anybody else interested in doing some manner of tri-state shoot?

Hey Matt!

I may have found a paint ball guy who wants to start supporting airgunners. I'm going to try to get a better idea of what works for him and what he can do for us, but we might be able to get a regular thing going at a passable, easy to get to venue with refreshments.

I'll advise!

He's game and he has plenty of space. I need to find somebody who has put together a shoot to figure out what we need.

I like the set up. He's got a commissary and while (for obvious reasons) he has no liquor license, he's not averse to folks coolering beer for after a shoot if that's something we want.

That's awesome!  If I can do anything to help just let me know.  My only problem is that I need to get my 350 in so I can start breaking it in!

Hey guys! A shoot is ON!!!

7/28: ATTN: Airgun/Pellet Gun Enthusiasts! Unofficial Field Target Event! (Northern KY)

We are very pleased to announce that we will hold a beginner/novice-friendly unofficial field target competition for air rifle/pellet gun enthusiasts. The event will take place through the morning and afternoon of July 28th, and it will challenge your marksman skills and provide a day of fun, marksmanship, competition, and camaraderie with fellow shooters.

If you're and airgunner not hip to the sport of field target but have interest just shoot us a reply, We'll be happy to direct you to the best source of Field Target info available. Youtube also offers a good many videos of this fun and competitive event as well, if you'd like a gander at it in action.

Target distances can reach as far as 50 yards, so adult airguns are recommended (but not required). Target sizes can and will present a challenge, as they may range in size from 1/2 inch to 3 inches. So get your practice in now! :)

A traditional spring powered adult pellet rifle will likely do the job if you can shoot it well and stretch the distance in your scope, however the event is also open to CO2 and pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) guns of all levels. Only calibers .177, .20 and .22 are allowed for this event, NOTHING LARGER! Also ONLY pellets may be fired, NO BB's! So pull that backyard plinker off the shelf and come stretch it out, you may be surprised what they can do!

There will be a designated spectator area for a reasonable number of non shooting attendees as well as other amenities.

Shooters will need to bring their own ammo and some form of safety eye wear is A MUST. Safety is of paramount concern and will be taken VERY seriously at this event. Everyone attending will be required to follow the safety guidelines and rules laid out by the venue staff and event organizers. Those failing to comply with proper safety precautions will be asked to kindly leave the premises immediately.

The shooters entry fee will be just $15 and anyone requiring air or CO2 fills for their gun can get them unlimited for just an additional $5. Guest attend for free. There will be a concession area with plenty of food and drink available as well restrooms and shelter.

More details are still in development, location and start times for the event can be had by replying directly to this ad with any questions or concerns.

Preregistration helps to guarantee a slot in the event, so RSVP ASAP as there are only roughly 30 shooters slots available for this first time event. This event will be a LOT of good fun! Trust us, airguns aren't just for kids anymore!

What: Airgun Field Target Competition
When: Sunday, July 28, 2013. 9:00am-2:00pm
Where: Silver Grove, Ky (contact us for specific location and directions)

Reach me or phantomshtter here with your email and cell so we can reach you with more details!

Hey guys. I live in Campbell county and would very much like to meet all of you. You can never have too many friends and shooting air guns is clearly more fun when shared.

I'm not a Kentuckian, but I can play one on TV!   8)  (Actually my grandmother was born and raised in KY, and my father was the only one of his siblings not born there.)  But back to the question...

I hope you're aware that there will be a GTA members' shoot in Glencoe KY around May 13-14, so it should be right in your back yard. I hope to be there, 7 hr. drive each way.  Also, here is a cross-forum link to a Central Ohio airgun group that holds regular events. Maybe it would be close enough to you to make it worth your time: http://www.airgunnation.com/topic/central-ohio-airgunners-2016-schedule/

Anybody in here ? I am bumping this topic to see if Mebits is still around. I think the paintball place he was speaking of is/was DIEHARD PB in N KY, I have been meaning to reach out to DieHard and ask around about pesting there. Has anybody dealt with Diehard yet ? I don't want to bother the guy if it's already been addressed.
