Look at this gray squirrel I harvested with the HW-50s this afternoon. He is one of the bigger squirrels I have taken in Delaware, I have heard of a squirrel called the Delmarva Fox Squirrel, but I don't believe he is one because of the reddest on his back. I shot him just right of the left eye and the CPL travel all the way to his left shoulder. He was facing me when I shot him. I had the glass on 12 power and it was pretty cool watching him. I harvested him on the Evans property, but left and went to the bus hide to finish hunting the afternoon. The reason for leaving the Evan's was because it was youth deer season today and a father/son team came in to hunt deer. I didn't want to hurt their hunt, so I left. The pictures are of the bus hide and hunting area there! All together I saw six squirrels had one shot and harvested one.

Very unusual to see a gray that big.
He would be a decent size for a fox, though.
Must have been eating his Wheaties.

Nice hunt and i like your land.. although that bus looks like the one that guy was living in, somewhere in Alaska when the bear ate him. Least the pictures in the book about it seemed close enough
Congrats on a successful hunt, J

Great shot with your HW 50.....and it anchored that big squirrel. And how did anyone get a bus deep into the forest?

Thanks guys,
The bus is about 20 yards in the woods from the field. The trees are probability second growth or third. In the back part of the property there are some monster Red and White oaks. The tops of these trees are way out of range for me and my AG.
Jim H.
I have harvested enough deer in my life. I take the wife out with her muzzle loader. We will be starting to hunt the 19 of November to the 27 November. She usaually harvest a doe for the freezer. In acouple years my son will be hunting them too! Me I enjoy hunting the squirrels and rabbits with my two Beagle dogs. Thats about it for my hunting anymore!
