Just like to say that this is my very first post as a new member. I've been a fan of everyone who has made this forum the site it has become.
I recently finished a project that has inspired me to join this forum and share the details, and a little later, pictures too. I finished rebuilding the titan
a day ago. Cosmetically, I removed the cheek rest with a rasp to match the right side. And after smoothing the stock for staining, I went with a water base
stain in blue from a tube. Then I applied a satin poly clear oil base on top. It came out as I had imagined. Sort of like the blue laminated factory stocks of
a few other rifles. Internally I replaced the spring, seal, seal screw, and everything else was polished and lubed as a tune. Re worked the whole trigger
pieces with a sand and polishing tune. Now the pull is smooth as butter, and breaks predictably. It fires with a no-twang, no - buzz sequence. This is the most in-depth project I've done so far. And let me just say that , as I always imagined a perfectly tuned, balanced , and efficient rifle being, this is what I had thought of! It now shoots 100% better than when it was brand new. It broke on me after about 5 months. Upon inspection after a tear down, the culprit was a broken seal screw! Hence the rebuild. It now sits blue with a 4-16x40 AO scope. 2 piece rings. Will be posting some pics later. I thank all members for this chance to share one of my passions in this great forum you members have created.
Happy and straight shooting,
