According to my table, the RWS/Diana 34 requires 33 pounds of cocking effort.

It's a 12-14fpe gun, so it's probably in that 30-33lb range.

For me I use the rule of thumb of one 500 count tin to break a gun in.................springer that is!

I know you'll enjoy it Kev, it's a great rifle.  I just put the 500th pellet through mine today. I've got it sighted in at 30 yds (that's where I do the most of my shooting) and yes it has a 33# cocking effort, but it seems like mine is getting easier already.  Have fun !
