SO...........can someone tell me what I would need to convert my MM tuned QB79 to HPA???
(do I simply need a regulated bottle?)

An on/off adapter and an hpa bottle tank was all I used. It makes a very good gun into a great gun.

I couldn't find The exact same adapter I used. This one does the exact same thing. Hope that helps.

One of the things to remember is that you will have to take your barrel off to put the tank on the first time. Then you will just fill your tank without taking it off.

OK Jonnyboy.....say I order the ninja tank and on/off.
What do I need in order to hook up to the ninja to fill it?
(I don't have a pump, but do have a N2 tank) so do you know of a prebuilt hose/fitting assy.?

Paul, you will need a "fill whip" that has three fittings. On one end there needs to be the fitting that fits your n2 tank. On the other end will be the female fitting that fits the bottle inlet on the rifle. Finally, somewhere in the middle there needs to be a bleed adaptor that bleeds the line after filling so the fittings can be removed from the gun without being under pressure.

I would recommend you private message Tim Macmurray (spelling) of Mac1 Airguns here on the forum as I believe he makes up the "fill whips" for different applications. I'm not sure on price but I believe I paid about $160 for a whip to attach to my scba tanks but I did not buy it from Tim. I didn't know about him then but I highly recommend him now. He's one of our recognized airgun merchants in the GTA mall and is highly thought of by many on the forum. He's a great help to lots of us.

The on off valve is optional if you simply screw on the tank it will work with the integral pin valve just like a bulk CO2 tank. If your using a hand pump with female foster fitting then you don't need any other whip or accessory. Just connect to the bottle's foster fitting and start pumping. Ninja bottles can be adjusted for different pressures, the standard is 850 roughly the same as CO2 at moderate temperature. They also have a SHP regulator, it ships at 1100psi and has an additional ring allowing you to adjust the final location the gage and fill nipple point when tight in the fitting.

Just following up, I've ordered this tank and will be installing it in the next couple days. First observation, the tank is LESS than 2", which is good. Also, the tank is smaller and lighter than a 9oz CO2 tank, which is also good.

I'll confirm how well everything works or doesn't once installed but so far, this looks like the shizz!

Wicked Sports is nice to deal with. Evidently, they sell a lot of these tanks to people like us. Number is 813-933-5630 if you want a warm body to talk to.

This tank is regulated to 1100psi (adjustable down) and comes with an adjustment ring to keep your fill nipple and gauge readable. (DO NOT do this with a full tank!) It's also much lighter than 9oz CO2.

It does require taking off the tank and the barrel. Do so carefully so you don't cut the O-rings (if Mike tuned it, you probably don't need to worry about the rings). Then spin the tank on, loosen the adjustment ring and spin your fill nipple to where you want it then tighten down with the allen wrench.

Slide the barrel back into place and tighten the band screw and the retaining screw.

Then pump it up.

I did, to 3000 PSI. I saw no evidence of leaking. So I took it to the range.

First of all I shot 6o shots. Initially my scope was way off. After sighting in, the RWS HP's were doing 2/10" groups. and the RWS Domes were doing 3/10" groups. I note that after 60 shots I was still at 1800psi (confirmed on the pump). I had figured on only getting 50 shots so this is a pleasant surprise. I think 75 good shots is doable.

I don't have a chrony but my best guess is that the guns is shooting RWS domes at 800fps, maybe a tad more (probably less than 900 fps no matter what). That's plenty of power as far as I can tell (~22 ft/lbs).

I'm pleased, to say the least.

Josh, it was shooting RWS domes at 799 (corrected--should be 699!) according to MM on CO2. I added air at 1100 psi vs. 850 psi CO2. That's it. I'll be shooting over a chrony soon and I'll be sure to let you know what I'm hitting. I'm super pleased with the shot count and accuracy. I'll be checking how well it holds air but I'm thinking it'll be fine.

Whoa! Sorry sorry sorry!!! it was doing 699 in CO2 .22. Sorry about that!!!!

i was tripping here lol but still should be close to 800 maybe 850 on 110 air i hope to see those chrony results soon lol btw where are u located so i can calc evevation corrections for my area when you post chrono?

I'm about 500-600 foot above sea level here in the Ohio Valley.

My guess is that in real conditions shooting real ammo, the QB is only slightly less powerful than the Disco, advertised numbers notwithstanding. More expert opinions may differ and I defer to them.

The weather not worthy right now so I'm probably not going to head out to my paintball supplier for a couple days and he's the one who will chrony for me.

Bubba Z is about to do similar, I think. So are a couple others. I just have to say that this is really, really nice on a lot of fronts. Price, fit and finish, power, accuracy, trigger, fun factor, shot count.
