Rifle season is in the morn and Im going to take my 1st deer with a air rifle.Been bow hunting since oct 6th so I know exactly where I need to be in the morn but now I cant decide on which rifle to take.
?
!The 909s or Recluse? Both are dead on and ready to rock.Im sure everyones thinking "no brainer" but I did some tests with some phone books yesterday and Im getting 4 more inchs penetration with a 130 gr hollowpoint out my .357 then I am with a solid 200 gr out my 909.And the .357 is ending up around .530-.550 after it mushrooms.Any in-put?

its 5am and decided to take the 909s 45 cause most my shots will be under 50 yards and it carrys a punch.both are tack drivers out to 70 yards but the .357 is a lil flatter shooting beyond that. Both have been tuned and will do the job no problem I just want the one for easiest recovery .We're gonna she how it does.I'll probably carry the .357 this eve

Bigger holes bleed more.
I would have taken the .357 though if only for the extra penetration you were getting. In case you get a decent but not perfect shot where you will have to punch through bone you'll still be carrying enough energy to do major tissue damage.
Enough monday morning quarterbacking from me, but I just saw this. Sorry.

Went this morn and before I got in my stand I checked the trail cam to see what was going on.wish I had put it on video instead of pics cause there was 2 huge bucks fighting over a doe a hour before the sun came up and a nice 6 came threw at 4 pm yesterday.I had two fat does come in around 8 and even though I wanted to drop the hammer on them I let um walk cause I knew bucks were in the area.Heading back now for a eve hunt with the Recluse.

Glade you were able to get your buck . In reality either of your rifles and any of your bullets can get the job done . Marvin
