Crosman sending a NP TRAIL XL 1500 in exchange for my SS?

I shipped my Super Streak .177 back to crosman an waited for a reply,finally today I called an asked what was up? Beth(crosman rep.) after putting me on hold for about 5 min.'s came back an said they are shipping the NP Trail XL 1500 as a replacement for my SS, an that they have no more SS's in stock??? So I guess my question is do you all think this is a fair trade on my part or should I say something about it??? Bad thing is I have a .22 barrel an all the part's an was going to switch cal. back an forth on the super streak an I can't remember if Dave(ezman604) said if the two gun's barrel's were able to do it or not(HELP DAVE).I also have a new ram an the spring sitting here. This bite's big time!!! SO WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK.

Oh yes. i am sure you want be disappointed!!!! you will be amazed how fast it is, i use cpum 10.5 and it still shooting better than a 1000fps.... i am sure dave will voice his opinion.  get ready for one arm to be bigger than the other. thanks david

You will NOT be disappointed Jay!!!! The (SS) barrel will need a little tweaking with a Dremel or a cutoff tool. What you have to do is cut a little out of the breach block pivot slot to accomodate the sling mount. And you will need either a muzzle break or have a shroud made to fit it. I'd suggest a shroud and I know JUST the person to fix ya up. 
Get in touch with joeblow for a custom shroud to fit the SS barrel. Your best bet is send him the barrel and have him custom fit it. Costs a little more (but not that much) than a muzzle break and should reduce the noise level. And will look a BUNCH kooler.
But, I would not hesitate doing the swap. Since you are giving up your rifle, I'd see if they can also throw in some CPUM ammo or a gift certificate to redeem at the Crosman store. The guns are priced similar, so you are getting the same value. But, since you are losing YOUR model, ask for extras. LOL
I'm in the process of converting my SS to gas ram so if you can get an XL1500, GO FOR IT!!!! HeeHee

Thank's Dave & Dave , I'm glad the barrel will work on the Trail XL with a little extra work in it. I guess now I need to figure out what to do with the ram an spring?I think I will call again tomorrow an this time just keep calling KIM's ext. till I get her,her phone is alway's busy(hang up ezman I need to talk to her ). I really only have 2 complaint's about this deal an that's the cost to replace a ram when it goes out an the fact the SS came with a 4x14 scope an the NP only has a 3x9 on it.HMMMM maybe more to mean woman about=more kick back!?!Again THANK's you two fine Brother's for listening to my gripe's an getting back so fast.OH an I'll look up joeblow ezman(is he from kokomo IL. )

YEAH, a legitimate gripe. Complain about the scope. And tell Ms Kim I said "Howdy". Haven't talked to her THIS week. LOL

Had a few minor setbacks and just waiting on all the parts to arrive. I'm hoping to get ALL parts here by the weekend and can start assembling Monday. Shoot pictures, shoot pellets and post a thread or twelve.

What Dave said for me also(well darn sure not as much money as Dave, but alot of time).Which bing's me back to my first post on this. I called today an asked about the part's I've already gotten an canceled a few other's an also the up grade on the scope for the XL,an of course I was a day late(should of just keep calling yesterday till I got Kim,order was already in the system)BUT she said if I ship the suff back(to her attention) she will send me the 4x16 for free an take the stuff off of my card just for all my trouble(Hmmm what to do,it is a $100 scope on their site).Also for everyone who would like too know the reason they have no more SS's(to ship) is crosman is going to mainly NP airgun's an is stopping that line of gun's with spring's (or maybe most AG's???) I really did not dig for more answer's?

Jay  i bought  the 4x 16 at wally world  for my XL1100 and to me its a great scope  its got lighted  reticle green or red i paid 80 bucks for it. I sure hope they don't quit making springers at least to we know the life span of the rams. THANKS DAVID

Got 2-3 of these myself. And for $69.95, they are VERY nice scopes.They have held up on top of my SS and TF89 magnums.

I sure hope they don't quit making springers at least to we know the life span of the rams. THANKS DAVID

The good thing about this is how cheap and easy it would be to go backwards. You can revert a RAM to a springer for under $30 and the parts are readily available. Matter of fact, I'd suggest going ahead and buying a couple of spare mainsprings, pistons, seals, tophats and spring guides.

Yep David I got my other 4x16 CP at wally's too they are good scope's for the price. The one they have on thier site is the same but they have another CP 4x16 that I'd guess has a stronger system in it also,an that would be the one I'd ask for IF I return barrel an such other part's(I'm kinda in the air on what to do).Did your an Dave's XL's come with the 3x9 on it (I'd say so)an what did you think of them, did it go out on you an that's why you got the 4x16? I really don't know what all they are going to change she (Kim) just said they were dropping the I guess Mag. line of springer's like the SS an such an going more with the gasses an that was why she could not give me back a springer SS an I got the NP XL in exchange.

Yep, my XL1500 came with a 3-9x40AO CP scope. It's a descent scope and works well but I wanted (needed) more magnification for more pinpoint shooting and better range. My eyes ain't what they use to be. 
I picked up a couple of new scopes and am in the process of juggling them around according to what I plan on using the particular gun for and how they shoot at a distant target. I've picked up a 6-24X44SWF and a 6-24X50AOIR and will decide who gets what this weekend when I start reassembling my herd.

Hey Jay,nice to be on the Best forum on the internet for AG's.Btw,another thing is,,get yourself a GRT lll Trigger from Bob/aka CDT and you'll be tickled with the new Trail NP XL! I have an XL 1100 with a RWS 4-12X50mm and it's also equipped with a GRT lll trigger and she's a honey of a rifle!The Bandit's can't handle her with a Predator at 34 yards,lol.Have fun and Happy Shooting!

Mr.Bob's fantastic gold trigger go in all my gun's, I order them same time as the gun(trigger is alway's here first,He is GREAT on shipping them out) an one is sitting here from the SS just waiting for a new home on the XL(just hurry up crosman).
