Mrod Bolt... Sucking

Hey guys,
Many of you may know that I purchased a .25 Mrod. Well I haven't been able to spend much time shooting and I found some more time today. I was having issues with accuracy but I think I just didn't know how to act with an awesome trigger.
Today as I was shooting the bolt became extremely hard to pull back. I read on here that another member was having the same issue but I couldn't find the thread to see what the solution was.
So... what should I do about this?

At least one of the issues was the bolts in the hammer and bolt that act as cocking lugs comming loose. One in the bolt has a sleeve on it to space it out, and the hammer just has a short bolt screwed into it. The bolt's you can get to w/o any teardown, but access to the hammer will require lifting off the breech/barrel asembly. Take care to get the transfer port lined up carefully and sealing if you have to get in there.

First thing to do is the easiest.  look on the left side of the receiver.  There is a small opening there where you can visualize a small cap screw in the front end of the bolt.  When the bolt is forward and locked you can see the cap screw.  Make sure it is tight (actually, remove it and put a small dab of medium strength loc-tight on the threads then reinstall).

This cap screw will engage the hammer when you pull the bolt back.  If it loosens up, it will put downward pressure on the hammer, causing the hammer to bind.

I called crosman and they had me adjusting the detent screw (top rear of the receiver). The detent screw was not the solution.   It was the folks on this forum that got me on the right track.

I hope this works for you.  A minute or two with an allen wrench will have you in your back yard shooting again...

Thanks for the advice brothers. Today when I picked up the Mrod the bolt works just as well as ever. I didn't have to do anything to it.
I guess I scared it back into line, eh?

I agree with squirl killer.   Handle the issue before you get involved with trying to seriously trying to shoot.  If it starts to act up again, you will simply be wasting pellets.  Frustration will only dis-allow you to learn your trigger and effect your abillity to truely concentrate of your shooting.  To top it off, you'll have to tear down to fix the problem anyway and start from scratch to re zero and get back to the point you are now.  save the lead for good shooting.

Tighten that Allen that is in the breech connected to the bolt.  Marauders come factory with nothing tightened down for some stupid reason.

They can be a bit clunky even when working great.  It is one of the drawbacks to a Marauder.  But I still like the rifle for its cost and what it can do for sure.  Have fun and I assume those groups shrank quite a bit for ya'?

that rear detent screw on the back top of the receiver  does have a lot to do with the smoothness and it getting tight sometimes. personally i snug it down then back it off just a hair. if it's too tight the bolt will feel tight as well. i added a little teflon tape to it to help keep it in place. and adding a little moly to the bolt will also help with it feeling smooth. but just a little. don't want it migrating into the chamber.

this isnt always the issue with the binding a lot experience. like previously stated it's usually the bolt/spacer on the side of the receiver in the bolt. but in the scheme of wanting it to be smooth and "right" a little adjustment on this screw will help also.

Yes Mike. I'm getting much better groups now. Seems like verything is working great and I'm getting to know the gun much better.

My Marauder Bolt was ruff and clunky. Dan Brown the Regulator Man  made a small part that replaces the Ferral on Bolt Stop.Now Bolt is as Smooth as Glass .
